Your worst date ever

I have to say, I’ve been fortunate when it comes to dating, as I’ve never really had a bad date. I’ve been on dates where there were no sparks, I’ve been on dates where I was sick, and I’ve been on dates where I was tired. But I’ve never been out with someone who was downright creepy, clinically insane or so obnoxious that I ran away from the restaurant screaming.

But I’ve heard the horror stories — dates who were unforgivably egocentric, dates who turned out to have significant others, dates who stole all of someone’s electronics after staying over.

What’s the worst date you’ve ever been on? Whether it’s far-fetched or more realistic, tell us your dating horror stories! Please specify whether this was a one-time, first-date sort of deal or whether this is someone you had seen a few times already.

At 4:50 p.m., AmazonRed gets to choose the story she thinks is the craziest, most entertaining or simply the most horrible as the winner! The prize is a slew of great dates for life, loser-free!

Morning, all and happy Friday! :-)

Never had a bad date but, then again, I haven’t really dated all that much, so I guess that reduces the odds a bit for me. Guess I’ll just sit back and lurk on this one, although something tells me that Blow might be in the running for the grand prize at the end of the day. LOL!

Oh good, the blog link is working.

Thanks for the appointment Bella! Seeing how I’ll probably be on a plane back to Atlanta at 4:50, I should probably name a judging replacement! How bout Raqi who is a great storyteller. (And DONE with bad dates!)

I also wanted to share that my sleep number is 30. LOL

As for the topic, my worst date was when I was a college freshman. It involved me picking him up (in my mom’s minivan no less), him asking me to make a stop on the way (to pick up weed :-/) and then he suggesting we go to the motel (because I went to school out of the area, and if I had sex with him he’d know I was serious about him :-/)

Needless to say the date ended early.

What I can say tho is because I’m so “selective” (or picky, or mean, whatever) I have been lucky to have never had bad sex! And never issued one of those eenie meenie reports you see on Sex and the City. LOL

Have a great day and weekend everyone!

Amazon

Are we to assume that this was a first date with this guy? If so, I’m curious to know why you had a problem with him asking for sex, but not with him asking you right off the bat to make a stop so he could pick up some weed? (If you ask me, that was a fairly ominous sign of how the date was gonna go.) Or, was it that you smoked weed, too, at the time and thought it was no big deal?

good morning, all!! 5 more days of school, hallelujah! lol pray for me, y’all.:)

o.k. my worst date ever involved a guy that i met at the gym about 4 years ago. he was seemingly normal in passing (decent convo, attractive). we wound up exchanging numbers, conversing by phone several times, and planned a date. i met him at a restaurant where he decided he didn’t want to eat. so, we settled on another place about 10 minutes away. i drove. boy, am i glad that i did! about 5 minutes into the ride, i was addressed in every other sentence as the “n” word. of course i’m looking at this fool like he’s lost it. he goes on to explain that he calls everybody “igga.” so we pull up to the restaurant…his behavior only worsened once we were seated. his convo went up a notch (if possible) to the point that every other word out of his mouth was a curse word. i felt like i was on a date w/richard pryor on a crack binge…lol. i got up and left that azz there at the restaurant before dinner even started. i still don’t know how he got home (and don’t care!). definitely the worst date ever.

I met her through online personals. She didn’t resemble her photos at all. I’m glad she was from a bit out of town, as I wound up choosing a restaurant far from where I lived. She told me all about her children’s arrest and prison records, and about her own; she’d been out of rehab for a couple of months. She drank quite a bit for a lunch date, I thought. Her tongue was coated with some kind of yellowish-greenish stuff, and she stuck it out when she laughed. She kept trying to get me to go to her place, so finally I agreed to follow her. She turned right out of the parking lot, and I turned left.

Then there was the one that used a different woman’s picture, had someone else talk for her on the phone. She was an illegal immigrant who didn’t speak English. Sweet girl, but still.

I was out with a friend in a bar in St. Louis when he was approached by a very attractive lady, a little older, but a real fox. They talked and asked if it was OK with me if they left together and I found another way home. OK by me. Saw him the next day and he wouldn’t talk about it at first but finally fessed up that he had taken home an older guy in drag. It did not make his day. He said that running his hand down and discovering something he wasn’t prepared to find was enough to propel him out of the motel and head for his car about as fast as he could move. I don’t think he ever picked up another “girl” in a bar again.

Kym “I don’t think Bushy is the brightest star…but never thought he was a racist.”

I’m in agreement with you on that - and I voted for Bush - twice. The problem I have with people like Kanye and others of his ilk, is they fail to realize that Bush’s Cabinet has had more minorities and women than any other president in American history. This is an irrefutable fact that even the “esteemed” Kanye West cannot deny, and yet he says Bush “hates” black people. smh

Thanks. I can appreciate your sentiments because you seem the type to actually put some thought and logic behind what you think.

I get really fed up with the “Kanyes” of the world who say they don’t support a particular candidate because they don’t “like” him or her. I’m like, “Da’ heck does that mean, you don’t “like” him?” Heck, even if I disagree with you politically, at least put your brain cells to work and debate me on why you don’t support him or her. As for the upcoming election, I’ll be working for McCain (although I do have the utmost respect for Obama.) I just hope once Hillary is “officially” out of the race that she - and her husband - will just leave us the hell alone.

I’m sure there has been some crossover voting in some of the Democrat primaries in states where it’s okay to do that, but I don’t think it’s been in siginficant enough numbers to influence the outcome of who the Dem nominee is going to be. Obama is simply presenting himself better than Hillary. He’s younger, more articulate and more ameanable than her. Of course, that video of Clinton lying her arse off about being “under sniper fire” in Bosnia didn’t do anything to chip away at her reputation as a pathological liar either.

Raqi “Obama is nothing at this time but a great public speaker.”

Yep and that’s exactly what I meant by saying Obama is “presenting” himself better than Clinton. A lot of people simply want their ears tickled and Obama does a great job of that. He’s one of the best speakers I’ve ever heard, politician or no, but a person has got to be able to see beyond that and recognize, as you said, that he’s not ready yet.

It is my own personal opinion that it doesn’t matter who the Democrat nominee is because McCain would defeat them both in a general election. It would probably be close, but I think he’d win against either Clinton or Obama.

Darrell and Raqi You both summed up my feelings on Obama..but hell I dont think Clinton would be any better either. The fact is Bushy made some mistakes(ok in my opinion alot of mistakes-Iraq is at the top) but in the end alot of mess is blamed on Bush while Congress is overlooked. It is Congress who controls the money flow..and Congress who votes in lots of idiotic policies. When people say look at Obama’s voting record..or look at so and so’s voting record in Congress well hell I would show up and vote too if all I am voting on is renaming a post office or two. Who’s district is going to get money for some mule museum etc. Alot of the problems with the economy now lie at the feet of the Captiol and not the White House. But it is the president(no matter who he/she is) who will get the blame. So at the end of the day..whoever takes office in Jan..note that your gas prices will be high, grocery bill high, some people will be in bankruptcy court and some in the bread line and There is no savior/santa claus in any of these candidates.

Could I just be bitter because I think Al Gore should have run? He is boring as hell but he has some good policies.

Raqi and Darrell since y’all have hijacked the blog with political talk, why you shyting on Obama so? I think he will definitely win against McCain and I wish Hills would sit her tired azz down somewhere.

Obama is an outstanding speaker, but more importantly he makes the people feel hopeful for a better United States and a better run government. McCain will only continue with the Bush administration and agenda. Hills, well…..she’ll be the face of the next Bill Clinton presidency if she were to win.

Barack has run an awesome campaign in light of the little glitches (i.e Rezco, Rev. Wright and just this morning, calling some reporter ‘sweetie’-when was that a bad thing?) that have arisen along this trial by fire. Finally, we all know that the President rarely makes any real decisions. As long as he has a strong cabinet and administration, we’re straight. I think he has some pretty strong forces behind him. John Edwards would be an excellent VP. I’m excited about this election and even happier to be apart of this movement for positive change.

You’re absolutely right. If more people would take the time to read the Constitution, they’d realize that in the grand scheme of the American political system, the President is virtually impotent as it relates to having any real power.

It is by design that Congress is where the real power lies, and it’s a lack of knowledge of that which is at the root of why so many people see their favorite presidential candidate as some kind of “Santa Claus” (as you put it). They actually believe that the candidate himself/herself, once elected, has the power to make things happen for them and when they realize that’s not the case, they want to gripe and complain about it.

When it comes to truly understanding the intricacies of the American political system we, as voters, have a long, long way to go in that regard.

Beautiful, KP is in the building!

Case #1 - One of my worst dates was a blind date orchestrated by a ‘so-called’ friend. Needless to say, every adjective used to describe her was extremely exaggerated and I was totally disappointed. I was embarrassed to have been sitting in the lobby looking for this woman who had been described, only to see someone else who was about 40 lbs heavier and not as attractive as described. This was in my pre-ministry days so I used some colorful words when I spoke with my friend the next day.

Bit-O-Honey Here is my thing with the whole “Hope campaign”. “Hope is great!! we all hope. But in the end when Obama can’t deliver on all everyone hoped for..then what? “What’s left?” There has to be more to his campaign than the word Hope. I read his platform same as Clinton’s but when someone ask you what are you plans for this..a speech on Hope is not a plan. People want to believe in government. Newsflash Government was never, ever, ever, ever designed to be your friend or take care of you or make sure you feel all warm and snuggle at night. People seem to think it is..but if you read the whole consitution there is nothing in there about being friends.

My worst date was with a guy that I had known for a few years. He’d been trying to get at me for all that time, but I always had a boyfriend. So, when I became single, I decided to give him a chance. We went out for a while and finally got to our first intimate episode. He was VERY orally attentive (which looking back I should’ve seen as a sign). So its time for the main course and I’m waiting, waiting, waiting for him to start…then I realize, he’s already in and I can’t even feel it!!!! I promptly asked him to get up and said with as much tact as I could muster that I just couldn’t go through with this. Now THAT was some bull*&%^! LOL

Rell and Truth I promise I am going to say this and then leave it alone. (well maybe) The undercurrent of race in this country and anywhere else on this blue ball in space we live is not going away until everyone as a collective hold lets go of it. That doesn’t mean turn the other cheek or bow down. It simple means letting go. I said I love this story in Tolle’s book and hell since we are talking about race(or will be soon) I will tell it.

Two Monks are walking along and come to a huge mud puddle in the road. A woman in fine robes is standing on the side of the road wanting to cross but afraid due to the puddle. One of the monks walks over picks up the woman carries her across the puddle to the other side and continues his journey with the other monk walking along silently for another 5hours. The arrive at the temple and the 2nd monk can no longer contain himself. “Why did you pick up that woman, we as monks are not to make contact with women. The 1st monk looks at him and said “Why are you still carrying her?..that was hours ago.” We as a collective whole in this world still carry around a whole bunch of stuff that is dragging all of us down. Just something to think about. Pain is a heavy as load to carry..be it in relationships or as a nation.

Now Kym that’s what people are losing sight of. Every one is chanting “black president” with the misconception that he will work wonders for the black nation. Wrong. As you stated congress control…

BitO Obama is an outstanding speaker, but more importantly he makes the people feel hopeful

See there’s the problem. You can meet a woman and she be the first that you will go all the way with and you can talk her into believing that you can touch her in a way that will make her body quiver so brilliantly that she will remain awestruck for the following two hours. But can you pull it off?. Being that you are still yet inexperienced.

I like Obama and have supported his efforts since the beginning. But I still don’t think he is ready.

Bush has made a ton of errors and the republican control Congress played right alone with him. So all of this yeah Bush made errors but Congress didn’t do anything is isn’t rational when the Republicans controlled Congress until recently.

Which McCain are you voting for?

The 2000 McCain that believed in this country and didn’t cowtail to the 2% that wants to continue to run this country into the ground.

Or the 2008 McCain:

  • McCain didn’t vote for Bush in 2000 but now saying he did.

  • McCain denied he had conversation with Kerry about being his Kerry’s VP but then admitted he did have the conversation.

  • McCain denied admitting that he didn’t know much about economics.

  • McCain denied ever having asked for a budget earmark for Arizona but testified he did.

  • McCain’s experience and knowledge but he doesn’t know the difference between the Shiites and the Sunnis.

  • McCain said Iraqi war is for oil

  • McCain says we should stay in Iraq for 100 years

  • McCain’s wants to keep the Bush tax cut that he voted against twice.

  • McCain campaign finance reformer campaign is been ran by lobbyist

  • What job in this country will properly prepare you to become the President of US? After all we have had an Actor, a Peanut Farmer, and a man that ran every business he ever owned bankrupt as a President.

Since when does being the spouse of a President make you capable of being the President?

On topic Well I have had so many ba dates…let’s see! There was one ddude I met when I was 18, still avirgin. I made the mistake of metioning that. Well this goof ball said he was too and that a doctor told him that because his sperm has never been released that he has to be drained or he could die from the back up. So right now I am keeping a straight face and laughing at this idiot. So I was taking a medical assistant course while out on summer break from college. I had brought home a few practice needles in my bag…so I tell him that I can help him with that problem..I come back out with the needle ready with gloves and all…dude had his clothes off thinking he was going to get some azz…he almost sht a brick when he saw me coming close to it with that needle. He asked what I was doing…I said, “be still…I’m a woman of my word..I said I would help you with that problem…I never said how”! Dude got dressed quick and was trying to leave..and I played crazy and started crying and saying I don’t want you to die because your back up…let me help you…needle still in hand*. I can’t speak for you, but I’m already being financially raped in that over 40% of MY money goes for some sort of tax to the government! I’m part of that “middle class”, too, and trust me, one of the first things either Obama or Clinton will do as President is try and push through a tax increase. By finanacially raping the middle class:

Over the last 8 years 92% of the wealth in this country has benefited the top 6% only. People making less than $100K a year have not seen a wage increase since Bush took office, while food, gas, and other commidity prices have grown 3 fold (again increasing that 6%).

Darrell, you have every right to believe what you choose and vote accordingly, but if you think that the ulitmate in “supply side economics” that has been enacted and practiced by Bush and a Republican Congress has been beneficial to a Large majority of the country, then brother…you don’t understand economics and I need you to retake that class. (Macro and Micro).

It amazes me that people vote against their own self-interest, even when faced with evidence that proves it. Not that Blacks should be Democrats, or that the Christian values are things Republican believe in. Vote your conscious, vote your interest (financial, cultural, etc.), but vote and make it count!

I believe that the Republican branding of itself over the last 10+ years as the Patriotic, American Dreamers, wanting to return to a simpler time is all code for a subversive racist agenda.

I also believe that hyper partisianship wether in the annuals of Congress or private speech has been co opted by hyperbole and exaggeration.

But I personally feel, no offense to anyone intended, that a Black person voting as a Republican has serious self image/ self awareness issues.

We weren’t meant to achieve the American Dream, the hypocrisy of this Democracy is that we weren’t apart of it. That’s why BO’s presidental run is impressive, not only to Black people, but people all around the world that see that the self proclaimed “greatest Nation” hasn’t gotten past Race yet.
