Relationship categories: where are you?

I was struck by something Angie posted yesterday.

Here’s her proposal: Within the first two months of dating, a man puts a woman in one of three categories: friend, sex or wife.

I think she may be right. In fact, I think I’ve likely been all of those to different people over the years, though typically I’ve probably fallen into the last two categories the most.

Conversely, I size up a man fairly quickly for husband/father potential and decide whether I think he’s great for a mate or practice mating. Most of the time, I move on if I can’t see a long-term relationship. I’ve found that guys, however, are comfortable with a purely sexual relationship for as long as its convenient.

In your experience, what makes a someone seem only worthwhile for a sexual relationship (aside from the obvious!)? Is a core value missing or do you think its basic intuition?

In the times you think you’ve met a potential life partner, what was different? What qualities stood out the most? Was the sex just as powerful?

Have you ever dated someone for a couple months thinking it was purely sexual, only to have it develop into something deeper?

And to the ladies and the fellas: in which category do you most often find yourself?

Yep, “Convenient” meaning as long as you let us get away with it… A one night stand usally ends up being those Purely sexual relationship…

Yeah thats somewhat true, Most guys can size a woman up rather quickly.. If she is gullible, a proud garden tool, or the ish.

Mic Check. One two, one two what makes a someone seem only worthwhile for a sexual relationship Actually, I think it’s easier to answer the opposite: What makes someone worthwile of MORE than just a sexual relationship? I’m not sure you can always put your finger on it. I’ve been with women who, on paper, should have been The One for me, but we never moved past the sexual. Nothing more than a sexual relationship can ever develop until we decide we don’t want to have sex with any other woman, even if you had every quality in the world.

Morning all. Happy Wednesday.

I’ve never gone into a relationship purely for sex. Can’t handle such a thing. I can’t control what category he thinks I am, but I can control how often we get busy.

Men and women both after a few dates sort of know where a person stands in their lives. The thing is it can change as time go on. Some folks start out as just friends and it evolves into something more. Some start out as something more and end up as just friends. Some start out as intended, the situation runs its course and then it’s over.

Thing is we all have hopes for what it is we want when meeting someone new however it can either way. Just because you are approached to be placed in one category does not mean you can end up in another.

It’s only natural to have that first impression when meeting someone. Some of my best interactions whether short lived or long term were the ones that I just let happen. When you start restricting people to certain categories you stand the chance on missing out on a good relationship as well as wasting time on one that should never be.

I agree. Doesn’t it take two to tango?

Also, I recently saw an example of this on Judge Mathis. The female plaintiff was the mistress of the defendant. He tried to stop it and she wouldn’t let him stop it. She showed up to his job. Ultimately, he lost it and hit her. That wasn’t the reason for the case on Judge Mathis, though. She was suing for breach of contract for something that he said that he would buy for her. Even though they were involved in 2 court cases (the domestic battery and breach of contract), they both admitted to having sex right before showing up in Judge Mathis’s court.

It definitely takes two.

Dreams I agree with you. It a no brainer. The only thing you need to do worthwhile to get placed in the sex only category is wake up in the morning and walk out the door. A relationship like that comes a dime a dozen.

Being deemed relationship worthy is where it’s at. And spouse worthy…

However I do understand Blanca’s question. Little to no common interest, the inability to engage in meaning conversations and a lack of desire to spend time together and just be are all indicators that a person could only be good for sex if you are indeed doing the deed.

By Kym

Good Morning All,

I am not really sure I understand what you are driving at Blanca with that first question..but I think I am going to take offense to it any way. I always take offense when people say things like core value and sex in the same sentence. I have to ask who’s core value are you talking about..so that first question I am going to leave alone.

Now as for #2

The guys who I thought were the one each contain the essential thing I was looking for..security. I dealt with the guy who was not the best communicator but essential I guess as old as time itself..I wanted that sense of security. Could I trust this man to take care of business? Could he provide for me and our family? I don’t mean just cash. Anyone can get cash..but does he have that hunter/gatherer instinct that he will do what is necessary(and legal) to make sure he took care of his tribe? That was the common element all of “the ones” I had in my life. As for the sex..they all were aware of what they had and what to do with it..some better than others.

I have dated someone just for the sex and I mention yesterday that I was the one that “caught feelings” but I had to know my boundaries. The ground rules were set from day one. I think that is why we remain friends to this day, because while my feelings bounce back and forth like a rubber band I keep them within the set boundaries.

As for catagories—one I don’t like them but the humor the masses I would say I am mostly in one and two. Not sure I could handle three.

Morning All!

I’d like to think I’m placed in the ‘wife’ category most of the time but since I haven’t been a wife, I know that’s not true, LOL. So I’ll go with friend

Honestly, like AmRed said - I can’t control what a dude thinks I am. I’ve never been in a strictly sexual relationship, but I have met guys that I would place in that category if I desired one. Saw one in the gym just last night, LOL

Conversely there are guys that just exude ‘husband/father’ The way they carry themselves, treat others, talk to children, etc. would make me put them in the ‘he would make a good husband and father’ category.

Mrs Human Torch No doubt. It is possible to have everything a person wants and still not develop a relationship with that person. It depends on where that person is in their life at that time. Maybe they aren’t ready for a relationship, but genuinely enjoy your company as well as the sex.

its like asking, can u tell if a female is a girl or woman,or a male is a boy or man Thats easy:thru dress and conversation. If u hang with somebody long enough, smtimes even on meeting them, you know exactly what category they fall into untill they act diffrently for you to change that perspective. If u are a lady, dress like a lady not a hoe.If u a man, dress like a man not a boy.If i say hey whats up on meeting, ive set the bar low for u and im hoping our conversation will be about fun stuff, unless u elevate the discourse and proly say hie,how are u doing. A man will kinda of ease u in the direction they think u are or they want u to be in unless u make them change course to smething more serious. Then they proly walk away, coz they are not ready for that relatiosnhip type or they will walk with u in stride! Ur body lingo, dress and vocab will shout out loud:whhore, sexx or lady. Good merning!!

And the thing about categories, just like labels, you cannot place yourself in someone’s category. While you are bragging about the new love of your life they could very well be bragging about the new late night activity they just hooked.

However I do believe you can be the something else to a person but they still have to place you in the category. My husband married me and claims me as his wife. But as you all have seen be say many times I am an excellent girlfriend. I just happen to have a legal document that binds me to this man. (I guess once this baby is born I will place myself into wife status).

I don’t know when in his life and dealing with me he decided he wanted me as his wife. I’ve never asked. But I do know when I felt that he is the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. And that didn’t happen after two months. More like 22 months. Around the 2 years hurdle I knew I wanted him as my one and only man, although the thought marriage was not front and center with me.

Tazzee No. Don’t fall for that look. Heck I thought the same about whitebread. He looked like a great catch. He treated my son really good and treated me even better. I just knew he would make the perfect husband. He looked it. I felt it. But he was a terrible husband to the wife he already had. He cheated on her for over a year with me. And who’s to know if I was even the first one.

Looks can be deceiving.

great topic blanca when i was owt like that, i would sex a girl for as long as she would allow sans any serious discussions for anything more meaningful than the orgasmic.

i don’t know how many ways to say it, its been said redundantly on this blog, women, men always know how they plan to proceed with you (if they plan to proceed with you) and in what capacity. angie gave us the benefit of doubt, i knew within the first 30 days whether or not you would remain on deck or be traded for a better player.

its really, really simple. this thing is not complicated whatsoever. when I met my girl, i knew i would not leave without getting to know more about her. i also knew that she would ultimately be my girl. not arrogance, confidence.

Morning,

First: Let’s get rid of this misconception that every female can have a sexual relationship, in 2009 you ladies need to learn what guys have known since puberty, you have to be chosen. You can be the hottest thang walking, and while a man may be attracted to you he may not want to sleep with you for any number of reasons. Breath, attitude, (in)convience, etc.

So, while you may be attractive (and have it going on in every other department) you will find men admittedly not a lot of us that are not out to sleep with you.

Now, to the question posed, as it stands when you meet someone you meet them at a moment in time, a stage in life, and at a point on their personal development scale.

If a purely physical relationship is where you are both at, it happens. If one is not interested, it doesn’t, simple as that.

Speaking only for myself, I can say that the whole “I’d hit” mentality is a function not only of the physical but other factors as well (see above).

As for what category a woman falls into with me, that’s on her. I have no preconceptions about anyone (male or female) our interactions and my responses to how she handles certain situations form that opinion.

A woman can go from “wifey material” to “cut buddy” in a conversation. Likewise a “cut buddy” could become “wifey” in that same convo.

Soory about the long post, but they are actually trying to make me work today.

You’re right Brunson, confidence is a turn on. A few years back someone once told me I would do a particular act. I said I wouldn’t, that I couldn’t. He looked me dead in my eyes and said, “I’m confident that you will because you love me.” He was right! Don’t worry your pretty heads off as to what it was. Mrs Human Torch perhaps I should have phrased that better - those are the guys that I would invest the time to see if they were actually husband material. Like you said in your other post - I doubt very seriously if I could determine if a dude was ‘husband’ for me in 2 months, but in the initial stages I observe certain characteristics that make me want to know more.

But you’re right, I invested time in one that seemed right and found out he was married, LOL.

Cemeeli there should be an expiration date on the bag. The popcorn is usually good for at least 6 months, especially if you don’t take it out of the plastic. For instance, I have some popcorn that I bought last fall in Houston that has an expiration date of Apr ‘09. Once I peeped the prices here, I brought the boxes I had in H-town back with me on one of my visits back, LOL.

Cee,will come back in the afternoon hrs with my comments on Savannah outa respect for the topic: On topic, i think a guy will place u in the friend zone if either u too serious in ur whole demeanor or he is just not feeling u like that. Some females, u have so much sister respect for them and u dont wanna mess that by imagining urself being atop them!!lol There must be some sexxual tension u feeling for smebody for u to either put them in wife or sex only category. And to cosign Raqi,i think this,in Atlanta may not have much meaning or u have to really dig deeperThe way they carry themselves, treat others, talk to children, etc. This is becoz of the undercover gay bro situation.Generally speaking and based on my own observations, gays are the most mild mannered and respectful pple. Now if u go by that alone Tazz, u will think bro is a good catch.Any where else, maybe so.ATL,think again! A good, well rounded bro must have some lil bit of rough edges in them.

Great post! There is so much to comment on so I will take it slow. “Have you ever dated someone for a couple months thinking it was purely sexual, only to have it develop into something deeper” Recently I had a to make this decision. I met a guy that I felt was the “serious relationship” type but he made it clear that he wasn’t looking for a relationship. So I placed him in the sex only category. This worked for me just as much as him it seems. It started with dinner, then sexless sleepovers and then the “horizontal/vertical.” Just like any relationship, over time things seem to mature in that feelings begin to evolve. So we decided to make things more defined and be “serious.” Things have been good. I think that things worked out well because we didn’t have any expectations. We just went with the flow and this allowed a more natural bond to take place.

Yes men and women probably put folks in those three plus another “nothing” categories. However, the sex and spouse are co-mingled for the smart ones as you can’t have a great marriage without sex (at least over the longhaul). I know when I was dating there might be great sex but once I realized the person wasn’t spouse material it was over. Likewise if I dated someone and then the sex turned out to be flat or there was not a great desire it was over then as well. Glad I approaced it that way as I know far too many couples who are unhappy and while people don’t want to admit it most of the time they have poor sex lives. The couples with frequient and positive sex lives usually have better marriages. Who’d have thunk it?

Well, upon meeting a guy….the first decision is whether I am physically attracted to him or not. If he is, then he is a possibilty of friend, boyfriend or hubby. I don’t do booty buddies! That’s to complicated for me after a while. One of us could develop feelings that the other deos not have. Now if I am not physically attracted to him, he is possibly put into the category. And that is only based on whether his personality is good enough for that. If not then he goes into the abort mission category! LOL

Granted I have seen men who are so fine I may just want to sleep with them as long as they do not speak…it would ruin the fantasy if he is a wanker! But since I don’t go around screwing beautiful fools…I can fantasize! Good enough for me. LOL

Raqi You are right…a man is a horrible husband for any woman if he is willing to cheat on his wife or leave his wife for another woman. If he can do it to her…he can and probably most likely will do it to you. He is shifty & shiesty!

She relocated here for a job at her own expense. She is currently renting a house….her rent is due on the 1st after the 1st her landlord adds a penalty of 10% of the monthly rent + $20 per day for everyday she is late. Well, the 1st was on a holiday this month, so she paid on the 2nd and the landlord still wants her to pay all of these fees.

IMO, I think those fees are a little outrageous. When I rented apts. back in the day….the late fee was at most the $50. It just seems a little extreme to charge that much for her being late one day.

From what I remember, it usually was the older women (late 30s to 40s) that really entered into maintenance man situations. They usually provided for themselves and didn’t ask a dude for anything else, especially those that had been divorced.

Georgia has some issues in regards to usury laws. There is some dispute in certain area of the usury law domain.

PoppaG Like those “Pay Day” spots. Tose places will lean money on a promisary to your paycheck, but will put a very HIGH interest rate on like a $200 loan…and people end up paying the scams back like, $500! Ridiculous!!!

She needs to read her lease. In general, contracts govern themselves. There is a notion, particularly here in Georgia, that the freedom to enter into a contract also includes the freedom to enter into a bad contract. She may want to contact an attorney. Many will tenant attorneys give free consultations.

Back in my rental days, rent was due on the first and late on the 5th. So, late fees weren’t due until the sixth.

I used to be a dispossessory paralegal. So, I know about crazy landlord and eviction procedures.

With the fight over payday loans and credit card rates, usury law is in a state of flux right now.

Stormy the contract should say what is to happen if the 1st falls on the weekend/holiday. If not the landlord cant just make up a rule nor is your friend obligated to pay before that date. The bigger problem is 1) Your friend signed a contract that is obviously unfair 2) The landlord is a dyckhead Most landlords give til at least the fift and termination can begin on the 15th. If I were your friend I’d tell the landlord I’m not paying shyt and take me to court. She might as well bring that pimple to a head tight now. That landlords gonna beat her up the whole time their together.

They have very good lobbyist. They really make a killing. Unfortunately, more people are going to them right now to get them from one payday to the next.

The rates usually are 25%. The problem comes when they can’t pay up when time comes due. It then becomes another loan and that gets added to the old loan. It becomes a snowball.

Jamoca He had his first pregnancy induced late night store run last night. All we had in the house was alka seltzer and you know I can’t touch that. So he was off at 3 in the morning to buy some Tums. I tried to endure it but it was unbearable. When he got up to go get dressed I followed him into the closet to put on my pants and jacket. I told him I would ride with him. He said ‘go back to bed, I got this’. I want to hear those same words when it’s time for the 2am feedings. He gon lay right there pretending like he is asleep the same way he does when some inconsiderate lamebrain rings our doorbell before 8am on a Saturday morning.

    Truth

*If I were your friend I’d tell the landlord I’m not paying shyt and take me to court. *

I hope that you realize that is grounds for the landlord to file a counter suit for breach of contract.

In Georgia, judges can be very conservative in regards to contract law. They really push that freedom to do business thing, which is one of the reasons that Georgia is an “at-will” state.

I’ve seen Bankruptcy judges reluctantly say to debtors, “you agreed to the terms and there isn’t much that I can do but hold you to them.” Ignorance of the law is not a legal defense.

You should have read it and asked questions. Once you sign, you are attesting that you read and understood, and agreed to the terms (even if you didn’t read it).

Yet I do agree that where you evolve to from where you start out, can be unpredictable. But if you can’t determine your value/worth to another, how can you elect which category you’re lumped into? i knew few chicks who will admit that they have had sex with a dude simply for the sake of sex…

i have done it…however…i knew going in that it could not be something that i did on a continual, on-going, indefinite basis…

it is proven…prolonged intimacy with an individual produces emotional bonds in women…period…

i am aware of that…like i told someone very recently…women use sex to get love…men use love to get sex…(and as you all well know)

but that should not be your aim…how you proceed and what happens with this thing you might be doing should depend on his actions…

because actions will show one of two things…either he is interested in you for all of who you are…or he is interested in your horizontal abilities…

sit back and watch his actions (not his words) and make a determination…if he shows you that he just wants to take you to bed…you should not be intimately involved for very long and place his @ss solidly in the friend zone…

and that’s just real talk from a chick who is real about hers…

    Truth

    Court is a toss up.

Contract law is less of a toss up. Either you followed the terms of the contract or you didn’t. It is actually one of the easier aspect of law.

Contract cases are usually bench trials so they go by the letter of the law and the actual contract itself. If you have any parol evidence to show why you shouldn’t be held to said contract…like an adhesion contract, then you might be able to win.

Adhesion contract would be available here because there are other housing options out there.

It is the landlord’s house and he can make whatever terms he’d like as long as they are legal. She would have prove illegality

The Offeror of a contract is the master of a contract. The Offeree can take it, leave it or offer something else (counter offer).

    2Sunny

I just said in my experience, that the older chicks handled it the best. They were the ones that were less likely to catch feelings. I been there and done that in my former life.

For the record, I think that ATL radio in general has become horrible.

Some stations are going to syndication to save money (i.e. Ricky Smiley and Steve Harvey). Tom Joyner has been on here for years. There are even rumors that Russ Parr (?) might end up on air here.

My CDs and IPOD much more play than any radio station with the exception of 750 AM and some of their shows.

Savannah is an old port city. Actually, one of the cities in the US. There are some things that can’t be changed due to being on National Registry. It was the first capital of Georgia. Fort Pulaski is an old fort. It is just old. It is older than the US.

Hilton Head is a resort and is supposed to be nice. That is what resort are. Nice places for strictly for tourist. It was planned for tourist. I’ve been there as well. I think that there is a Disney Resort there now, too.

Hello all. Dropping in for a moment while in town.

    IMHO

In your experience, what makes a someone seem only worthwhile for a sexual relationship (aside from the obvious!)?

When you realize that except for the sex, you don’t want to talk to them and you avoid answering your phone after you look at the caller ID. For me, that is time to run…sex is easy, a deeper relationship is much tougher.

Have you ever dated someone for a couple months thinking it was purely sexual, only to have it develop into something deeper?

NOPE. But I have had the reverse plenty, i.e. thinking it was something serious, but ultimately was only the physical on both sides. Have also found my self in what I thought was a meaningful relationship and found that I was just being used for sex, i.e. boy toy (not the age necessarily but the function).

And to the ladies and the fellas: in which category do you most often find yourself?

Been placed in all at times, but first “friend”, second “sex”, third “husband”.

She can go to court and the fine will likely be reduced and she’ll be given probation.

Or, she can go to court and have her attorney work with the prosecutor for an abated fine in exchange for her attending traffic classes and probation.

Both will likely cost less than the fine they tell you that to get you to pay as opposed to going to court and it would mitigate the damage to her insurance payments as well.

Personally, when I can. I fight tickets. You lose a day of work, but there a 60% chance the cop won’t show up anyway, leading to - case dismissed

I got a $400 in Sandy Springs for about the same. At court there, you are 1) allowed to plead guilty (pay fine and court costs and your insurance gets dinged good). 2) Have a court trial (not usually a good idea), 3) go to some kind of counselor/diversion setup then and there where they can recommend a reduced fine and/or traffic school and not go on your insurance. Your punishment will likely be less, but in my instance I still had to pay the whole thing, but the charge was changed to keep it from going on my inusrance or points added on my driving record. I got the tougher coordinator, several in front of me (mostly teenagers) got some diversion program.

Tybee Island is really more of the resort like stuff. I think that there is a fair and stuff out there.

Savannah is not a resort though. I think is an old version of Atlanta with water, not on meant to be on the same level as Hilton Head. Resorts have to be kept up or no one will spend their money there. Savannah isn’t a resort. Commericial seafood ships come into Savannah. That wouldn’t be allowed in a resort place like Hilton Head.

Further south, Jekyll Island, is where the rich and famous stayed. The Rockerfelllers, Whitneys, etc. had places there. Not Savannah.

I have beaten several in Atlanta and Fulton County for the same reason, officer not showing up. However, is a bit of a gamble sometimes though, because if he does show up you often have to pay a bit of “courthouse rent” in addition to the fine. In the Sandy Springs one, there were none that I saw that worked that way, no one was cut any slack from the officer not being there. If you pleaded “not guilty” you were given another date to come bck for a jury trial. I tried diversion route but that seemed to work better for teenagers and those not going 84 in a 55 mile zone like I was (I-285 is a 55 mph zone. I tried to obey the speed limit a few days later and that was one of the scariest trips of my life…a “death wish”).

Most were just at a point in life where they wanted something different and marriage was not it. This was especially true for those who had been married before and weren’t ready for a relationship.

I’m a strong proponent for not caring what people think about you, and living you life according to your own standards of belief and honor, but the one thing I’ve come to realize about “celebrities” is that they are classic narcissists.

In their mind, it truly is “all about them”. They see no hypocracy in preaching one thing in public, while living a private life of the antithesis.

Every human has that weakness to an extent, but their status as a “celebrity” causes their faults to be magnified exponentially.

After that I took my son off of my insurance and I also had the car titled to him. The reduction in insurance cost was an added bonus but the initial reason for the change was to not have the liability on me. He is a foolish young boy and then he lives up north with all the bad weather. I hope he never does anything to harm himself or anyone else but if that should happen I don’t need the risk of having everything that I and Mason have being taken away.

I am the azzhole on the street that I was referring to. Even being conscious of that trait, it doesn’t mitigate my empathy for the trials of others.

And I feel you on being at least consistent in personality and persona. Thing is, no love is given to the azzhole in any of us (no matter the degree) when a social role or situation impinges on the standard of how one would/should act.

That’s where “celebrities” and other self- important people lose it. They usually set the tone of the interactions that they have and people go along because it’s “him/her”.

And I will admit to having a bit of Barkley, Gibson, even Bush in some instances because I’ve been known to say “I’m Dan”.

    Nope, I don’t forget it.

Most of the chicks that in my past, I was up front with it. When I said that I wasn’t looking for a relationship, I was truthful. Whether they wanted to hear it or not, I was truthful. In many cases, I did indeed walk away before going there. Really, the only ones that ended on bad terms were the ones where the girl wouldn’t take a good bye for good bye. I had to get mean to run her away. There are only two of those.

Now, in my continental quest, it was real upfront. In those cases, there were encounters on vacation when the both of us knew that we wouldn’t see each other again. On a couple of occasions, it was natives that I had met in Clubs and such.

I understand that they Kitty is undefeated. Whether it was Napoleon (who was bisexual) or J. Edgar Hoover (who also had bisexual tendencies & even dressed up in women’s clothes from time to time), sex is a basic animal instinct. However, it only controls our lives if we let it.

Cee you went to Savage State? when I was stationed at Ft Stewart we would pull on that circle between the chics dorm and the chow hall and just pull em right and left. A chick could be 5 feet away and the next one would come right over. It was like a herd of fine azz cattle. Whats the name of the chicks dorm again and that circle? I was down there in 84-86. Hey Auntey Leggums! It’s too bad that your friend didn’t recv her ticket down this way. I remember about 10 years ago, I recvd 3 at one time. So I was told by the officer himself that there was a place called CAPS (forgot what the acronym stood for), that allowed you break up your total in monthly installments, and get the suspension lifted from your DL (while making pymts)to enable you to drive legally. And if I’m not mistaken, they offer driving school, even if you’re over the age of 21… look at me telling you this, as if it helps. LOL

Brunson To answer your question from earlier…Yes, I have engaged that type of behavior. He was my boss, not immediate, but within management. So to answer the question of whether we began dating afterwards, No; although, he let it be known that he was all of a sudden interested in something more longterm…after nearly two months of his calls and whatnot going unanswered, then later noticed someone else was interested.

In my mind, I kind of felt at the time, this was the only reason he came to the conclusion of “wanting more”. And by that time, the thrill was gone (for me) and I knew there wouldn’t be much, because there was not much of a foundation to build on. Just sex, which was off the Richter scale. I also told him this, but felt he knew anyway being he was 36 to my 20. After being fed up with tense workdays and some nights, forcefully being pulled to the side, shortly after he decided to relocate, and shortly after that, I left as well.

All that to say, some people man or woman, can still enjoy each other’s company, while keeping it all in perspective as far as which lane(s) they belong in. It just depends what those two people want at the time, from the beginning to the end of the relationship.

In some cases, it does not necessarily mean that they don’t want more, just not with that person. Man or woman, IMO.

Thing is we’re all 2 faced, just depends on the topic.

Poppa maybe my moral compass is off or broke but I reserve the right to significantly change the rules the second you do. i’m not bound to some higher code than deal with this situation and get it over so I can get back to enjoying life. Thats what its about for me. Lets take care of this business so I can get back to enjoying my life.

People do what they do in life. MLK wasn’t thinking that if he knocked off that fine cutie folks 30 years from now would look at him negatively. He wanted that azz and it overrode all other thoughts. It is what life was about at that moment. I hope I never lose the ability to focus on a goal I deem worhty, whether good or bad. To be in that moment is to be alive. The day to day shyt is just something you go through til you find another “purpose”. Then the jets kick in.

Lurker good, because I was about to ride you hard. Let me know if you want to fill in for her. Has she even been back since she was thrashed? LOL Thin skinned people, I tell ya.

Melo Tybee Island is low budget but fun. Across the street is the Sundowner Motel. I was knocking off this chick from outside of Ft Stewart and we would go there and have at it. This was the drill. Leave Ft Stewart on friday going to the ex wife at Univ Georgia. Stay there fri and sat and get up sunday morning and head back to Ft Stewart. Pick up ol girl and head to the sundowner and chill til monday morning when i had to run pt. Dam life was good. LOL Jekyll Island and St Simons are older and stodgier too. Good seafood though. I’m a yankee that loves Savannah. Ever since I saw Midnight in the Graden of Good and Evil (love that Lady Chablis) I was dying to go there. Well last year I got my wish. Not only did I see the drunk folks everywhere (St Patty’s Day weekend) but the old houses and the famous cemetery are all so full of rich history. I mean to see graves from the 1800’s is just so cool. In fact I took pictures of them and with them (I know..I’m morbid)! We also drove out to Tybee Island. For some reason the day after the ATL tornado was unseasonable warm…72 at the beach. I can’t wait to go back. I liked the Hyatt on River Street..it was easy access to the street of drunk folks and I wouldn’t have far to carry my friend back! LOL

Poppa “a man who won’t stand for something will fall for anything” although I’m no man…I was taught the same thing.

I hope he will be like my first son Hmmmm…sounds like Raqi don’t want no other female in her household or taking space in Mase’s heart (Daddy’s Little Princess)! LOL I hear ya mami! I personally would never want a son! Little boys tend to get on my nerves! They don’t listen and you gotta smack ‘em up a bit more! LOL

I lost almost 15 pounds in a week from vomiting and not eating. Been there done that..but I wasn’t pregnant. It was anorexia/bulimia! Ugh if I could lose that weight now…but not like that I’d be in hog heaven. LOL Oh well….

    Afternoon Blog!

Don’t really have anything to offer about the topic. All I can control is me & how I conduct myself with a man, not over what “catagory” he decides to put me in in his head.

PG - As to the Frank Ski thing, I feel you all the way. He’s the tiredest, no-neck-having, hypocrite there is. Back when he used to DJ at Kya one of my employees came to work talking about how disgusting he was. She said he rolled his fat self up to her & tried to give her a key to a hotel to meet him at. She said she laughed in his face. The next morning I heard him on the radio talking all holy. I don’t care anything about what some man other than mine is doing or what he’s doing it with. I just don’t want to hear how holier-than-thou you think you are. If you’re going to be a dog, be straight up about it, I’ll respect you more.

I can’t stand Ryan Cameron either, he’s silly & thinks he’s the ish too. I used to work with a cousin of his at Delta and that was her only claim to fame - she was Ryan Cam’s cousin, whoop dee doo!

I go between Steve Harvey, Tom Joyner, the Bert Show(Q100) & cd’s in the morning. My SO has satelite radio though, which is very cool.

Leggs & Jamoca We wont find out the gender until around the 20th week. I have to go for an ultrasound every week now, but it’s too soon to tell. It may appear before the 20th week. We’ll see.

I have already had two ultrasounds. The second one was a very good one. But it was also a two parter. The regular and the trans-v. When it was time for the transy I told Mase he had to leave the room. He was like ‘why’? I told him I don’t want him sitting there while that woman was all up in my business. He started to say “it’s not like…” I told him don’t go there. Just get out. Those procedures are very uncomfortable as it is.

I do the same. I just keep them extra close so that I can watch their every move.

In most cases, we may not know who we are dealing with until things hit the fan, though. Pressure busts pipes and that is when you see the true nature of a person. Therefore, we all deal with hypocrites on a regular basis without knowing until that time hits.

    Truth

I care less about that infidelity than the hypocrisies. We all have our vices, but that doesn’t mean that I have to like that person. But in the same vain, that person doesn’t have to care what I think. I have neither a Heaven nor a Hell in which to put them.

I can and have worked with people that I can’t stand. I work in the legal field. There are clients that I didn’t like, but they paid the bills.

I would venture a guess that we all have worked with someone that we didn’t like at one point.

My personal goals have always been more important than any azz, unless it was just getting azz. There have never been any real accidental azz catchings. Usually I pursued. There have been few times that I let it catch me.

LOL Staceye I know. When you want to lose weight you cant even pay someone to take them. But when you shouldn’t be losing them they find away to escape. I was very happy with my previous weight and I was not skinny. I don’t do skinny. I do me. I like my men slender but not skinny. I want to have a healthy baby so I am going to try real hard to get where I need to be. Any weight I don’t want after birth I will deal with then.

And about my hopes of not having a girl…she may be the spitting image of me. That’s a scary thought. Boys are just easier.

TwoLincolns Him aint a her. But you know what’s ironic? When I was pregnant with my first son I hated my first husband. I hated whitebread after conceiving my second son. I don’t hate Mason during this pregnancy.

Maybe those two boys were battling their fathers to make assure my love was for them. But this little bean could possibly have me loving Mason more than ever assuring that…Hell naw. Yall got me talking crazy. It’s a boy. I can feel it.

Truth Lockhart Hall was known for it’s ilk, as well as Wright were acting like they were the serious ‘n studious, quiet types. But then Wright Hall was know for being the live/ghetto hall. It was right near Greek Park/Yard and a hip-hop Hill hall. But there were slim to none Wright Hall ghetto chics that turned-up on the “Most Popular Bedpost Slideshow” at the frat end of year parties.

During gradutaion slide show of the memories of the year/years dudes where literally yelling out on the gilrs they’d dated. In sync they all the bruhs would be watching the Power Point slideshow/pictures of girls of whom they “ran train”, or the like, on and where rating them. When a chics picture popped up on the screen: They’d yell out “#1 for Dupes” or “#2, #5 for Que’s”. smh

You say that…but rarely is genuine honesty appreciated, even when it’s a brutal truth.

Naw, Dan, I’m for real when I say that. Every dog I’ve dealt with on a personal level showed his true colors, I just chose to overlook them. Lotta people don’t understand charm goes a long way. That’s how a lot of guys that are such big dogs they may as well shout it with a bullhorn still can get the ladies. I admit I’ve fallen for the okey doke and then dusted myself off and went on bout my way! Now if I’m dealing with someone on business, that’s a whole different level. Like my mom used to say, you need to have eyes BEHIND your head! Then it’s dog eat dog.

We just got a set in November. We got ours from the Mattress Firm outlet center in Norcross (Along the access road btw Pleasantdate and Jimmy Carter.(I think that it is called McDonough Boulevard) They have a clearance room in there.

We got a Queen set for 300.00. It was the kind with the pillow top. But comfy, especially since it was for the guest bedroom.

Other places talked about financing and stuff. Financing mattresses? No wonder we are in a credit crunch.

BJs at Camp Creek also has mattresses, but I don’t know their prices.

Cemeeli I will never forget that. Him and then his boy! I felt like the big apple for real…or the crime that McGruff the Crime Dog says to take a bit out of! LOL

Raqi IT’S GIRL! Get used to it! LOL I got some good girl names for you. Since I will not be having kids I try to name everybody else’s!

Poppa I happen to listen to the Bert Show every morning. I like them better because they do not have people on there OD-ing and trying to be funny and sounding stupid like V-103. Now as I got dressed fro work today I happen to listen to them speak on the T.I child support and child support situation in general. It was good convo. I had to agree with Wanda. It kills me when the baby mama gets greedy and start bumping her gums about lifestyle maintainance. T.I’s baby mama said that her sons should be entitled to the same lifestyle as his kids with Tiny. I am pretty sure when he goes on vacations he takes them as well as his younger kids. When they are with him they are treated no different. Well he pays her $3,00 month in child support…Child support NOT alimony! See that is what you get for being a baby mama and not a wife. As an ex-wife he would have to pay more to maintain the lifestyle she became accustomed to while married. But as just a baby mama, his job is to support his kids only. Now he pays for them to go to private school, clothes and medical bills. Basically that “child support” he is giving her should be used to keep a nice roof over their heads, a car and food. But most of all this trick needs to get a job if she wants a certain lifestyle. Being a baby mama is not salaried employment! You do NOT deserved to be paid for taking care of your kids. She claims $3,000 is not enough. Now, if she had an actual job then that annual child support allotment of $36,000 would be great extra income! What about the mothers who got deadbeats and can’t get a cent of help? Men be careful of who you run up in raw dog…you never know how much money you will make one day and then you will have money grubbing chicks thinking they deserve a piece of your pie. Now I do agree if a father all of a sudden gets rich…he should do more for HIS KIDS only! He should not have to pay for the chick who wants to keep up with the Jones’ and has no way of financially supporting that lifestyle on her own. Women, be careful of who you let run up in your raw because you may end up with a deadbeat! See all this is reason enough to remain celibate! LOL

  • Reasons – Earth, Wind & Fire

  • Between the Sheets – Isley Brothers

  • Caught Up in The Rapture – Anita Baker

  • You Give Good Love – Whitney Houston

  • Just the Two of Us – Bill Withers

  • A little something him and a little something for me.

The best about this CD is if Mason gets in the groove and decides he wants to join my in Calgon bath, I don’t have to worry about getting knocked up.

^^^^…being the baby mama does not* entitle her to receive an reasonable amount of money to support her lifestyle because she is using the children as collateral…while the child is entitled to a reasonable upbringing withing the parents means to provide this does not mean that the mama’s get a free ride…and some women will do this with the intent of it being the case…I have seen it many times…it is not fair to the children and it is not fair to the person paying child support.

LOL…although I would like to say that they will suck, I think that new QB who enrolled this week is gonna be a good one. I saw him play this weekend in the US Army game on Saturday. Dude was playing with broken leg was on point. He is out of Tampa Florida. He led his team to the Florida State title about 8 weeks after breaking his leg. It hasn’t fully healed but dude is a gamer.

Richt also got the #1 QB our of the state of Georgia to enter next year as well.

I can’t think of the guy’s name, but he graduated HS early and is enrolling at UGA this week. They also have GA’s #1 running back out of ECI Washaun Ealy (?)-Urban Meyer is still trying to get him to go to UF. and the #1 player overall in the state of Georgia who plays at Washington High school in downtown Atlanta.

They will be young, but not necessarily bad.

My Gamecocks on the other hand, need another coach that will just let a QB develop. Spurrier yanks folks around too much.
