It’s Tuc time once more on OLTL

I love hearing good news about soap casting, especially considering all the strange firings, show swapping, character killings and replacements happening in the genre recently.

Cases in point: Natalia Livingston and Lindze Letherman on General Hospital; Martha Madison and Brandon Beemer on Days of Our Lives; Grayson McCouch, Scott Bryce and Martha Byrne on As the World Turns; and Ricky Paull Goldin on Guiding Light.

I know characters come and go on soaps, but sometimes I’d much rather focus on the arrivals than the departures.

You can imagine my joy when I read that the wonderfully comedic, impeccably sculpted Tuc Watkins was returning to One Life to Live as David Vickers.

Hallelujah and a box of milk-chocolate-covered Oreos!

Is that good news or what?

I uber love David. Uber, uber, uber. Love, love, love.

Tuc is such a natural in the role. He manages to be devious and lovable at the same time. Sexy, yet sweet. Funny, yet sincere.

Considering that David is the actual long-lost Buchanan, and not Jared, Mr. Vickers’ visit this go-round should be especially interesting.

Tuc (and David) brings such a spark to the OLTL canvas. When he’s back in Llanview, I always tune in just to see which lucky cast member gets to work with him this time.

He plays so well off everyone, but my personal favorite is Viki (Erika Slezak). Their scenes have such a nice balance of warmth and mischief. They are one of my favorite non-romantic pairs.

Now, if I could only get David and my other fave, Rex (John-Paul Lavoisier), in more scenes together, I’d be one extra happy viewer.

There’s no word yet on an exact date for David’s return to Llanview. For the time being, I’ll simply bask in the knowledge that Tuc will be gracing our small screens again soon.

Let the squealing commence.
