Thom Christopher joins list of OLTL returns
Wouldn’t you know it? Just when I thought it was safe to blog about something other than casting news, another round of hirings and firings crops up.
Keeping track of all these comings and goings is like watching a soap opera all in itself. Sheesh.
One Life to Live, in particular, is bringing back a lot of familiar faces to its canvas.
First came the news that Tuc Watkins would be returning as David Vickers. Soon after it was announced that Andrea Evans, the original (and delightfully vampiest) Tina Lord, would also be coming back. Then came the huge reveal that Susan Haskell, the original Marty Saybrooke, had inked a deal to return to the show.
All big news, to be sure.
But you know what caught my eye the most? And for reasons that aren’t entirely related to the world of soaps?
Thom Christopher will be suiting up again as mob meanie Carlo Hesser.
Holy bird feathers! Hawk is once more coming to roost in Llanview!
I have loved Thom from the moment he swooped onto the screen in 1981 as a foe-turned-friend to TV’s Buck Rogers. As a young girl, I was mesmerized by Hawk, the half bird, half man with the sturdy jaw and that sexy-as-all-get-out voice.
When that voice showed up on OLTL, I knew right away I was going to be mesmerized again.
And Thom didn’t disappoint.
He is absolutely chilling as Carlo, and I look forward to seeing what kind of trouble he’ll stir up this time around.
