Fulton County Sheriff's Office, Fulton County Sheriff's Office Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, was arrested and jailed Thursday on charges of violating the terms of his probation.

The rapper, whose real name is Radric Davis, is currently at the Fulton County jail and is due to be released in May 2010, according to jail officials.

It is unclear how Davis violated his probation.

Signed to Warner Bros. Records in May 2009, Davis was set to release his third album, The State vs. Radric Davis on Dec. 8.

Davis pleaded guilty to assault in 2005 hitting a nightclub promoter in the head with a pool cue, and last September, he was sentenced to a year in jail for failing to fulfill his court-ordered 600 hours of community service in that case.

He went to jail and served until March, when MTV reported he went straight to the studio and recorded five songs.

According to reports, Davis was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in Atlanta after moving here in the fourth grade.

Davis has received industry notoriety from mixtape singles.

In May 2005, he released his debut album, Trap House, in May 2005 independently. It included the largely popular “Icy” single, featuring rapper Young Jeezy. In 2007 he released Back to Trap House Music.

His most recent single, “Spotlight,” features another well-known Atlantan, Usher, who whose divorce from his wife Tameka Foster Raymond was made final earlier this month.
