Kenny Chesney visits GSU football coach
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Country singer Kenny Chesney paid a visit Georgia State football coach Bill Curry Thursday morning, said GSU sports information director Allison George.
The visit wasn't a surprise, but a planned interview -- Chesney has a documentary in the works about college football coaches.
"It's not a story about [the GSU football team] and our first season, but a documentary about how football coaches influence players," George said.
The name of the documentary has yet to be released, but the producer of the project, Don Lepore, said GSU was one of the last stops on the film's list of coach interviews. Lepore said the documentary has been under way since January.
Chesney was a receiver on his high school football team, Gibbs High School in Lutrell, Tenn., and is a devout fan of the Tennessee Volunteers.
