CATCH THE TRAIN

In the old days, trains equaled hobos and hobos equaled booze. Appropriately enough, the specialty cocktail Loose Caboose is on the platform on Tuesday nights. During the Locomotion in the Garden: Trains Across Georgia exhibit at the Atlanta Botanical Garden (1345 Piedmont Ave. N.E., Midtown), 'tenders will pour the sweet and juicy vodka drink, for all wannabe rail riders.

TEQUILA FOR DAD

Have a pop who digs tequila? Sauza Tres Generaciones Anejo tequila (approximately $38 per bottle) is the brand's mack daddy mixture. According to Sauza, it's aged for three-plus years in bourbon barrels. The pale gold color and caramel/vanilla scent may be impressive enough. But score even more brownie points by pairing it with a copy of the book "Tequila: A Traditional Art of Mexico" by Alberto Ruy Sanchez and Margarita de Orellana ($16.50, www.amazon.com).

GET TOWED

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the bar. A different kind of undertow pulls in drinkers at Taco Mac (240 W. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur). Vodka, blue curacao, DeKuyper Razzmatazz, and sweet and sour mix make up the Undertow. When served in a martini glass, the Razzmatazz is poured along the inside of the glass so it sinks to the bottom.

IN THE DRINK

Loose Caboose
2 oz. Fris vodka
3 oz. cranberry juice
3 oz. lemonade
1 tsp. grenadine
1 Maraschino cherry
Combine all ingredients in a shaker half filled with ice and shake well. Strain into ice-filled Collins glasses. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
