Moët Martini Monte Carlo

Published on: 07/14/2005

SUMMER IN MONTE CARLO

You don't have to be a jet-setting gambler or a relative of Grace Kelly to experience the Martini Monte Carlo. The makers of Moët champagne suggest mixing its Nectar Impérial with Belvedere vodka and lemon sorbet. The result is a bubbly, cool taste of the high life that won't break the bank.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

In the tradition of department store sales, Spirits tracked down some yuletide cheer for the summer. Webtender.com has the Santa Shot. Pour equal parts of the following in order: grenadine, green creme de menthe and peppermint schnapps. It has the minty bite of a candy cane and looks like one, too.

JUNGLE LOVE

The trailer for Peter Jackson's "King Kong" remake has some monster lovers going ape. The folks at Barton Brands (www.bartonbrands.com) give another reason to pound the chest. The Green Banana has an ounce each of 99 Bananas liqueur and melon liqueur joining 4 ounces of pineapple juice. Possibly fruity enough to tame Kong himself. Co-star Jack Black may need something stronger.
