SPIRITS

STUCK IN THE '80S
Actress Molly Ringwald has been out of sight for a while. But Spirits would like to toast her with a Pretty In Pink, a cocktail named after her 1986 teen blockbuster. The combination of Stoli Ohranj vodka and other ingredients create a pinkish hue. Now if we could only find our bangles.
GO IRISH
Many Americans know the Black & Tan as a layered, two-tone mix of Guinness and Bass Pale Ale beers. But ask an Irish expatriate, and he or she might have another definition. Smithwick's Ale is a popular Bass replacement in the land of leprechauns. Ask for one — also known as an All-Irish Black & Tan — at James Joyce Irish Pub (22 N. Avondale Road, Avondale Estates). Show off some barroom smarts by pronouncing Smithwick's without the W.
ME AND 'YUZU'
Many Atlanta bartenders pour enough lemon drop shots on a weekend to blow out an elbow. Change the tune a little with this recipe from New York bartender Eben Freeman. The Yuzu Drop replaces lemon juice with yuzu, a sour Japanese fruit. Freeman opts for 1 1/2 ounces of Cîroc vodka and one teaspoon each of yuzu juice and simple syrup. Check farmer's markets for fresh yuzu or go to www.earthy.com to buy the juice online.
