Jamie Kennedy's jokes? They're practical

DON'T FEEL sorry for Jamie Kennedy.

Sure, he created "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" a few years before Ashton Kutcher's "Punk'd" hit the television screen. Both are "Candid Camera"-type shows, but Kennedy's got canceled.

And yes, Kennedy worked as a singing telegram deliveryman, a telemarketer and a clown (at least until his costume was stolen). He even had to create a fake agent to help him snag his first gigs. But all those experiences, plus scenes from his overly dramatic Pennsylvania childhood, are what provide his best material.

His clowning-on-the-cheap days are over, at least for now. Recently he executive produced the short-lived "Living with Fran," a show starring Fran Drescher (yes, "The Nanny") on the now-defunct WB network. He's a hip-hop satirist who has written hilarious gems like "Circle Circle Dot Dot" ("Here comes the bouncer. Don't get caught. Kindly introduce me to the friends that you brought.") and "Rollin with Saget," about his experiences out on the town with the notoriously raunchy comedian and "Full House" dad Bob Saget.

And he acts. Kennedy was nominated for a 2006 Razzie — the awards for "the worst that Hollywood has to offer" — for his performance in "Son of the Mask," losing to Rob Schneider for his titular role in "Deuce Bigelow: European Gigolo." But he's also won a Blockbuster Best Supporting Actor in a Horror Film for his work in the "Scream" trilogy.

Kennedy's got stories. Whether they are about his tough years when he lived in a closet, the roles he's gotten or the ones he has lost, you can bet they are hilarious.
