NIGHTWATCH
Learn about wines from GermanyPublished on: 05/01/2008
Even wine connoisseurs need continuing education. It's wine time at Seasons 52's Buckhead location with Grape Escape Germany, a special wine-tasting event. The restaurant's master sommelier, George Miliotes, takes guests on a tour of top-tier Riesling wines. Tasters also sample other wines offering a representation of some of what Germany has to offer. The event includes appetizer pairings, too. Reservations can be made by contacting Amanda Atkins (amanda@thereynoldsgroup.com).
• THE 411: $28. 6 p.m. May 1. Seasons 52, 3050 Peachtree Road, Atlanta. 404-846-1552, www.seasons52.com.

UP ON THE ROOF
Run that Union Jack up the flagpole and see who salutes at Verve Lounge. UKUSConnections.com, a social group run by British expatriates, hosts its Rooftop Happy Hour each Friday. DJ Stanzeff spins international dance grooves as guests mingle, connect and sip cocktails while checking out the city view. Guest DJs often join the fray, and drink specials run each week. You don't have to be born under the flag to enjoy; the party is open to everyone.
• THE 411: Free. 6 p.m. Fridays. Verve Lounge, 511 Peachtree St., Atlanta. 404-433-4946, www.ukusconnections.com.
TRES DE MAYO
Neighboring eateries Front Page News and Sabroso Mexicano are jumping the gun on Cinco de Mayo. The venues are joining forces to host Spiral Entertainment's Spiral Tres de Mayo Party. The tequila tasting runs from 3-5 p.m. DJ Diagnostik will be spinning on the Sabroso patio beginning at 4. The Francisco Vidal band takes the Front Page News stage at 9 p.m. And the Chynna Fox Hot Latin Review holds court on the Sabroso stage at 10. A mariachi band and a tequila ice luge join the festivities, too.
• THE 411: $10 advance online; $12 at the door. 3 p.m. May 3. Sabroso Mexicano, 351 Moreland Ave., Atlanta. 404-475-8888, www.spiralentertainment.com.
MAYO IN MIDTOWN
If one Cinco de Mayo bash isn't enough, Twisted Taco has a pair back-to-back. The Midtown location hosts a two-day Cinco de Mayo street party May 4 and 5. Add live music from Guilty Pleasure and Justin, a mechanical bull, two DJs, karaoke and prizes, and you might be yelping like Speedy Gonzales. Axel from Rock 100.5 FM will broadcast live from 3-7 p.m. on May 5.
• THE 411: $10 includes both days. Noon. May 4 and 5. Twisted Taco, 66 12th St., Atlanta. 404-607-8771, www.twistedtaco.com.
