SINCE ACCESSATLANTA is in the business of entertainment, we're used to being asked, "What's going on this weekend?" Here are a few — only a few — of our favorite places to get you started.

ELISSA EUBANKS/Staff
South Beach Bistro on Roswell Road nabbed honors for best new club in metro Atlanta, plus best hangout for the grown and sexy crowd. Compound took home bragging rights for best new club last year.

OK, so after sampling goodies at Whole Foods, head over to Rosa Mexicano Restaurant for a pomegranate margarita.

MOST POPULAR

Best place to drink Stella Artois and play darts: The Independent (931 Monroe Drive, upstairs, Midtown). Laid-back fun at its best.

Best alley to bowl while playing hooky: Midtown Bowl (1936 Piedmont Circle). Food, cocktails and games 24 hours a day.

Best casual, yet classy, late-night spot: Cafe Intermezzo (1845 Peachtree Road, Atlanta). Low lights, devilish desserts and a cocktail list that would make Wikipedia jealous add to the eclectic vibe.

Best music venue with an artistic setting: Eyedrum (290 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Atlanta). Sensory overload redefines visual arts.

Best spot for the grown-and-sexy crowd: South Beach Bistro (5920 Roswell Road, Roswell) and Hairston's (1273 S. Hairston Road, Stone Mountain). Both offer stylish venues and dinner food, but Hairston's has comedy and dancing while South Beach lines up the R&B acts you haven't heard in a while.

Best spot when you're hungry but can't decide what you want: Samples at Whole Foods (650 Ponce de Leon Ave., Midtown; multiple locations). With a salad bar, hot bar, pizza oven, sandwiches and sushi, it's hard to decide.

Best underground music venue: Drunken Unicorn (736 Ponce de Leon Place, Atlanta). You're almost guaranteed to leave smelling like an ashtray with your eardrums pounded, but you'll see some good acts.

Best Sunday afternoon: Trolling Atlantic Station (at 17th street in Midtown) for pomegranate margaritas (Rosa Mexicano), Swedish meatballs (IKEA), frozen treats (Tasti D Lite) ... and shopping to walk it off.
