In keeping with the No. 4 in July 4, here are four lists of four things you should know for Independence Day.

Four July 4 fireworks shows you won't want to miss:

1. Fantastic Fourth Celebration at Stone Mountain Park. Laser show followed by fireworks display. 9:30 p.m. Free but parking permit required for vehicle entry to park: $10 for one day or $35 for annual permit. U.S. 78 East, Exit 8, Stone Mountain. www.stonemountainpark.com/july4th/

2. Centennial Olympic Park 4th of July Celebration. Children's activities from noon to 5 p.m. Musical performances from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Free. 3. The Fabulous Fourth at Mall of Georgia. Concerts in the Village Amphitheater and family games in the parking lot at 2 p.m. Fireworks display at dusk followed by a showing of the computer animated film "Open Season" at the Village Stage. Four things to do on July 4 other than going to fireworks shows:

1. Go see the Braves host the Houston Astros at Turner Field at 7:30 p.m.

2. Circle the lawn chairs in your cul-de-sac, drag out the stereo and organize a potluck Independence Day party on your street.

3. Curl up on the couch at home with some junk food and watch one of these films: "Independence Day," "Born on the Fourth of July" or "The Patriot."

4. Pool all the fireworks in your neighborhood and stage your own fireworks show.

Four types of fireworks you can use legally in Georgia

1. Sparklers of 100 grams or less of mixture per item

2. Other sparkling fireworks that don't explode or shoot in the air and contain 75 grams or less of chemical compound per tube or a total of 200 grams or less for multiple tubes

4. Snappers

Four fireworks safety tips

1. Follow the directions.

2. Only use fireworks outdoors.

3. Light only one firework at a time.

4. Never reignite malfunctioning fireworks.
