Kutcher punks CNN’s downtown Atlanta sign

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Thursday, May 14, 2009

“Dude, Where’s My Car?” star Ashton Kutcher, apparently unaware that Ted Turner no longer owns CNN, “ding-dong ditched” downtown Atlanta’s most famous property owner Wednesday night.

Adult translation: He hung a banner with his Twitter user name, @aplusk, over one of the CNN Center’s neon logos that face Centennial Park.

Appearing with his wife, Demi Moore, in a video recap of the prank, Kutcher offered few details but said the banner was locked down and would be hard to remove.

“As you can imagine reaching the roof of the CNN building was slightly precarious but we pulled it off,” said Kutcher, who had some accomplices via Twitter. The Twitter-ers followed the actor’s instructions through the day at twitter.com/aplusk.

Kutcher, in town filming “Five Killers” with Katherine Heigl, promised to punk CNN upon reaching 1 million Twitter followers, beating talk show host Larry King to the milestone.

Reflecting on the prank, Kutcher had only one regret.

“We should’ve went with vinyl,” he said in regards to the barely visible mesh banner.
