There's a bit of a buzz surrounding the opening of the upscale Lotus Lounge (Lindbergh City Center, 565 Main St., Atlanta) in Buckhead next month. Think you'll get beyond the velvet rope? For those who wind up getting the cold shoulder, Spirits is passing on the recipe to one of its signature cocktails. The Sangria Martini integrates Meritage wine, Cointreau and fruit juices. Shunned clubbers can just make it at home.

BISCUITS AND BEER

The Flying Biscuit's Candler Park location (1655 McLendon Ave., Atlanta) mixes its home cooking with local brew for the Terrapin Four Course Beer Dinner. Learn more about the Athens-based Terrapin Beer Co. while sampling its beer and listening to brewery reps. It takes place on Aug. 11 and reservations are required. The dinner starts at 7:30 p.m. and includes suds and grub.

DANCING FUEL

If the cocktail menu at Loca Luna (836 Juniper St., Atlanta) doesn't ease the dance floor jitters, what will? Its collection of martinis, margaritas and specialty cocktails should help get even the most gun-shy salsa dancer on the floor. The Guaranteed Aphrodisiac martini features Sauza Tres Generaciones Plata tequila, Cointreau, cranberry juice and lime. The Ubatuba margarita may do the trick, too, with Sauza Conmemorativo Anejo tequila, brandy, lime, sour mix and orange juice. Or opt for the Brazilian Pearl Necklace, a conglomeration of Cruzan coconut rum, Captain Morgan spiced rum, Midori liqueur and pineapple juice.
