One of the great things about Atlanta is exploring all the neighborhoods in the metro area. Whether ITP or OTP, each neighborhood offers its own flavor that’s usually just a short drive away.

One neighborhood stands out in those tasty travels: historic Roswell. It has something for everyone, and whether you live in the area or take a trip to get there, you’ll find the food keeps calling you back.

If you want to recreate a scene from "Lady and the Tramp:" Osteria Mattone

Fabulous pasta awaits at Ryan Pernice’s second Canton Street restaurant. The Roman-inspired menu is filled with delicate pastas, tortellini filled with seasonal flavors, wood-grilled meats and true Italian pies. It’s brilliant.
And stealing away his brother, Dan Pernice, from a James Beard Award-nominated wine program in NYC? Genius.

If you want a great cup of coffee: Roswell Provisions

The true breakfast of champions — coffee — can be a bit difficult to come across in Roswell. But when you need something brewed perfectly, get to Roswell Provisions. Part-artisan grocery, part-pastry shop and part-coffeehouse, the experience alone is worth the visit. The fabulous coffee is a huge bonus.

If you want to feel like you're eating at mama's house: Greenwood's on Green Street

For your fix of fried chicken and meatloaf, look no further than this mainstay. Open for 30 years, these guys were farm-to-table before farm-to-table was a thing. Think fried chicken with peppery skin, creamy mashed potatoes and rivers of sweet tea.
Whatever you do, don't skip the desserts. The pie is legendary, and about as tall as your head. Lemon meringue and cherry are favorites.

If you want to bring the kids and the dog: Lucky’s Burger & Brew

Inspired by the owner’s golden retriever, Lucky, this burger spot will satisfy everyone in the family: The kids will love the burger-centric menu; Fido will love being part of all the fun on the pet-friendly patio; and mom and dad will love the friendly bar, which is always stocked with ice-cold beer.

If you need it delivered: Mr. Taco

Don’t discount delivery as second-rate cuisine. It’s been a long day and there’s no way you’re cooking, so you call up whatever’s convenient. Roswell residents have something intown-ers can be supremely jealous of: Mr. Taco. And don’t let the name fool you: These are authentic tacos, taken seriously.

You can’t go wrong with the tacos (barbacoa are a favorite), but if you want something really fantastic, go with the molcajete. Be warned: It’s a mountain of food, but you’ll never be happier after a climb.

If you want to warm up your soul with a bourbon cocktail: Table & Main

If there’s one person who has transformed Roswell into a dining destination, it’s Ryan Pernice. So it’s no surprise he ends up on this list twice.

His first child, Table & Main, is the spot to go to get some bourbon on Canton Street. The small bar is full of treats that will make anyone’s eyes wide with wonder. Ask him to guide you through his favorites and you will never be disappointed.

And when the weather is nice, head out to the twinkling courtyard, sip some cocktails and listen to the sounds of the Southern night.
