Since most meals are early in the day, you’ll have plenty of time to think of resolutions, jot them down on a napkin while you wait for your food and recover from a hangover since New Year’s Day is also National Bloody Mary Day.
Egg Harbor Café: With a mix of traditional and healthy breakfast and lunch options inclusive of eggs, crepes, breakfast bowls, burgers and specialty dishes like chorizo chilaquiles; habanero hash and eggs; and shakshuka, this kitschy restaurant, with four metro Atlanta locations, is the perfect place to gather friends and celebrate a new start from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Hampton + Hudson: This Inman Park restaurant will offer a lucky brunch featuring special additions like black-eyed peas and collard greens to bring good luck in 2018 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The regular menu, with items like chicken biscuits, burgers, pan-seared scallops and steak, will be available from 3-11 p.m.
Park Tavern: Kick off the beginning of the year with a party at this Piedmont Park restaurant, which will offer a hangover helper bloody mary bar for revelers recovering from the previous night’s festivities starting at 11:30 a.m. Football fans will be able to watch their favorite teams while noshing on burgers, wings, chicken baskets, oysters and more a la carte.
St. Regis Atlanta: A New Year’s Day good luck Southern breakfast featuring classics such as cornbread, pot likker, collard greens, brown sugar baked ham and black-eyed peas will be offered from 7-11 a.m. The regular breakfast menu will also be available. A seat at the table will be $65; $39 for children ages 4-12; and complimentary for children 3 and younger.
The Mercury: The inaugural New Year’s brunch will feature unlimited food for $24.99 and bottomless bloody marys for $19.95 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Live music will round out the festivities or keep them going depending on how hard you partied the night before. Sleeping in? No problem. A traditional New Year’s Day dinner buffet will be served from 5 p.m. to close for $34.99.
Southern Art: Start 2018 off with Southern-inspired dishes and buffet-style stations, which will be filled with faves like truffle deviled eggs, custom-made omelets and waffles, fried chicken, cornbread, Hoppin’ Johns, grits and a bevy of desserts from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Brunch will be $49.
Local Three: Start off the year by not cooking. The buffet brunch will include a salad, smoked salmon, eggs, pancakes, French toast, bacon, macaroni and cheese, shrimp, pizza and more, so come hungry. Satisfying your appetite will cost $34.93; $16.53 for kids ages 6-12; and free for kids under 6.
