Cobb County residents looking to eat right have a buffet of options. Take a look at the following finds before blindly going out to eat. Your scale will thank you later.
UpDog Smoothies & Juices
Making its home inside Be Yoga Studio, UpDog bills itself as Marietta's only organic and non-GMO smoothie and juice bar. In addition to downing nutrition in liquid form, the restaurant serves acai bowls featuring the antioxidant berries found on Brazilian palm trees. For example, its Warrior Bowl fights weight loss with blended acai, blueberry, banana and almond milk. The staff tops it with sliced banana, chia and hemp seeds, goji berries and nut butter.

Sure, you can get traditional breakfast indulgences such as eggs and bacon. But this chain offers healthy alternatives as well. Ask your server for an omelet made with cholesterol and fat-free eggs or egg whites. Instead of seasoned potatoes on the side, opt for dressed greens. Remember its homemade salsa is gluten free.

Juice Me Too
Healthy liquids rule this roost. Among its cold press juices is the Sunrise Blast (carrot, apple, lemon). Rather have a smoothie? The St. Kitts Cove stars strawberry, banana, oats, almond milk and chia seeds. Wheatgrass and ginger shots can be had. Acai bowls, oatmeal, mock tuna and kid options make the menu, too. The latter includes peanut butter and strawberry chia on a jam roll.

Life Grocery and Cafe Life
If you have healthy groceries and an empty belly on your list, you can stop here for both. Before filling your cart with an array of natural foods, swing into Cafe Life. Skipping burger joints? Then sink your teeth into a mushroom quinoa burger plate. Its Living Taco Salad has mock meat made of pumpkin seeds, sun-dried tomatoes, raisins, apple cider, vinegar, olive oil, various seasonings and sea salt.
