July 4th in Atlanta: A county-by-county guide to when, where to watch fireworks

The bad news is July 4th falls on a Tuesday this year, which means it’s not a three-day weekend.

The good news is, everyone’s pretty much treating it like a four-day weekend, with celebrations spread out from Saturday to Tuesday around the metro area.

That includes fireworks displays. Things will be going “BOOM!” in the night at a lot of different times in a lot of different places. If you want to hit multiple events -- or if you just want to be sure not to miss your favorite one this year -- check out this county-by-county guide to 4th of July fireworks.

Note: In many cases the fireworks are the culmination of longer, activity-packed Independence Day celebrations. Some locations give specific and/or estimated times for fireworks. Otherwise, they’ll start shooting them off at dusk or when darkness falls.
