Do you have a song in your heart and the desire to share it with several hundred of your closest friends? Maybe you would rather rent a private room in case of musical humiliation? Whatever you vocal desires may be, Atlanta can serve up a song. Here are 12 Atlanta karaoke bars holding a microphone with your name on it.
10 High Club at Dark Horse Tavern (Virginia-Highland) Wednesday nights at 10 p.m., enjoy Soul Karaoke featuring soul, funk, rhythm and blues and hip-hop legends with a live band. Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, you can join English Nick from 97.1 FM during Metalsome Live Band Karaoke. You sing with the live band, including more than 200 punk, metal, glam and rock selections.
Ai Tunes Karaoke Lounge (Norcross) Rent a private room for a small gathering. It's open every day of the week for reservations except Tuesday. Wings, tapas and burgers are the typical grub, and beers and hookah are also available.
Cameli's Pizza (multiple locations) Enjoy a little karaoke while dining on pizza Thursdays at 10 p.m. at the Old 4th Ward location. Hit the Little Five Points joint for singing Friday.
Chaplins (Roswell) Dubbed the neighborhood gathering place, you can sing your heart out Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights.
Felix's (Ansley Square) Take a turn in the spotlight at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. They have four microphones for fun with your friends.
Karaoke Melody (multiple locations) The original location off Buford Highway is open every day, and the second spot further north is open Friday and Saturday only. Private rooms offer plenty of tunes, which are served up via an iPad. Asian fusion eats and crafty cocktails make this a win until the wee hours of the morning. Note: As of this writing the article, Karaoke Melody is closed. We decided to keep it on the list because they are reportedly opening in a few weeks under new management.
Mary's (East Atlanta Village) Mary-oke is an honored tradition and has received multiple accolades for the show. Karaoke is every Tuesday and Saturday evening, with over 15,000 tracks available.
Mother (Old Fourth Ward) Head to Mother for karaoke every Thursday. Bypass the tame downstairs crowd and head upstairs for the more rowdy, singing party.
Sister Louisa's Church of the Living Room and Ping Pong Emporium (Old Fourth Ward) Wednesday is karaoke night at Sister Lousia's. T.T. Mahoney lays fingers to the organ while donning a robe and singing behind the pulpit. Church choir mayhem never gets boring.
Sweetwater Bar and Grill (Duluth) More than just beer and billiards, Sweetwater allows you to show off your vocal talents Tuesday and Wednesday at 9:30 p.m.
The Local (Old Fourth Ward) Jam at The Local every Monday night at 10 p.m. It's the kind of dive you read about in cheap novels -- and the kind you crave. They constantly get rave reviews on the wings and ribs, for the flavor and the price.
Wet Willie's (Buckhead) Enjoy the frozen daiquiri bar and sing all night Tuesday and Wednesday.
