The scoop:

THE SCENE: A clean beach with white sand on a clear, man-made lake. Very relaxing with a peak crowd of about 100 people per day on weekdays. Everything's close together. Perfect for kids or even solo sunbathing with a book.

SLIDES ON THE SIDE: The five water slides aren't spectacular. Water trampolines, waterfalls, a dock for sunbathing, water seesaws and more are scattered throughout the lake. A crystal-clean kiddie play area is a fan favorite, thanks to the slides, squirt guns and a pirate ship. Volleyball nets are available on the beach.

SIZE STILL MATTERS: Although the slides are comparatively benign, sliders need to be at least 4 feet tall. Shorter guests can get their fix on one of the slides as long as they ride with an adult. A two-person float is required at a cost of $3 for the day.
