SPANISH WILL BE the language of choice at Stone Mountain Park for Feria Latina. Organizers are expecting between 25,000 to 40,000 guests at this three-day celebration featuring big-name Latino music acts from around the globe, gasp-inducing thrill rides, and other cultural tastes, sights and sounds. "It's like we're creating a little town within Stone Mountain Park," says Ray Ortega, Feria Latina's CEO.

AccessAtlanta got the inside scoop from Ortega and put together the following guide to the fiesta.

MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC

More than 14 major acts are set to take the festival stage, from Latin rock bands to regional Mexicano groups. When it comes to groundbreaking names in the Tejano music scene, Mexican songbird Graciela Beltran's is often mentioned alongside such giants as Selena and Rocío Dúrcal. Beltran will be performing, as will Alexis y Fido, a duo of jocular reggaeton wordsmiths. Other big names on the bill include Toby Love, a bachata sensation who weaves R&B and hip-hop sensibilities into his music. And the fest makes room for Grupo Control, a troupe of cowboy hat-wearing musicians known as the kings of cumbia.

With its proximity to Cinco de Mayo, Feria Latina takes the opportunity to display Mexican pride through traditional music performed by mariachi acts, young singing groups and local Mexican entertainers. Atlanta-based Latin mix masters, including DJ Tito and DJ Mauricio, are set to spin.

CHILD'S PLAY

It's sure to be sensory overload for los niños. Carnival rides like the looping Ring of Fire and the classic Tilt a Whirl will be lighting up the midway. Kids ages 5 to 12 may enjoy the McDonald's Children Pavilion where clowns yuk it up amid inflatable attractions and tot-friendly exhibits like soccer demonstrations and a pet adoption center.

FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD

Latin and international chow takes up a sizable chunk of the fair. The Frontera family of restaurants, including Frontera, Don Taco and Paco's Super Tacos, will have an edible presence within its own pavilion. Other areas of the festival boast Mexican, Jamaican, Salvadorian, Puerto Rican and Chinese flavors.
