Auto racing in the Atlanta area is a year-round business, not just a weekend flurry of events when NASCAR is in town. Check out these tracks to fulfill your need for speed.

Dixie Speedway – With compelling racing every Saturday night from May through October, Dixie Speedway in Woodstock offers a variety of family-friendly fun for you to see including: Late Models, Outlaws, something called waterless boat racing and monster trucks.

Road Atlanta – Famous for its challenging road course, Road Atlanta hosts a variety of cars competing in various series throughout the year. The highlight of each year is the Petit Le Mans, a sports car endurance challenge featuring over 10 hours of racing. Racing events include Sports Car Club of America, National Auto Sport Association and WERA Motorcycle Roadracing.

Senoia Raceway – After you're done experiencing the home of "The Walking Dead," head over to the dirt track where you'll find a loaded schedule of racing events, plus a few events that throw in a little extra fun for the kids.

Atlanta Motor Speedway – The premiere track in town may host the area's only NASCAR race weekend, but the asphalt also hosts local and regional racing events year-round. In June and July, Thursday Thunder brings Legends and Bandolero racing to the quarter-mile Thunder Ring for weekly competitions. On Friday nights throughout the year, O'Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags displays street-style drag racing and a Show & Shine competition featuring upwards of 300 competitors.

Winder-Barrow Speedway – For a less formal racing experience, head up I-85 to the Winder-Barrow Speedway where you'll find dirt track thrills in the small town environment that will remind you of a NASCAR legend's origins.
