Spa City

The Atlanta area is a spa-lover’s dream.

Entebello, one of the latest entries in the spa market, is an Apothecary and Spa that offers products and services to men and women. Located in Buckhead, the store carries about 70 bath, body and fragrance lines ranging from i Profumi di Firenze, a line of Italian scents inspired by 16th century fragrances for $89, to Napoleon Perdis, a line of cosmetics that includes everything from $20 lip lacquers to $75 pore minimizer.

Tranquility Spa is a new spa that opened last week at Lake Lanier Islands Resort with services including stone therapy treatment. And be on the lookout for a soon-to -open full service salon and spa in Atlantic Station called Nani Salon and Spa.

So many choices…

What is your favorite spa in the area?

Spa Sydell in Brookwood - you can’t get a steam at a regular massage therapist’s office like you can there. The whole darkened room set up while you wait also sets the tone to start winding down.

I was a Spa Sydell client ten or so years ago, in my opnion it has turned into McSpa. I have been going to the same esthician for the last ten years. She is absolutley the best and just opended her own spa called “In the Spirit” on Roswell Rd in Sandy Springs. All of her services are great, and you can not find anyone better at waxing in Atlanta.

The Body Boutique in downtown Lawrenceville across from the historic courthouse. They use all natural, organic products and the results are wonderful.

Angela Michael Skincare & Spa in Dunwoody is the best. Complete and absolute personal attention. It’s very tranquil in their treatment room. They carry a great line of cosmetics, Sue Devitt (from Australia) and the fabulous Yon Ka (from Paris). I get all of my products there. My mother and I are regular customers, they even did the makeup for my wedding.

I agree with Nicolle.. Spa Sydell is a McSpa.

You can’t beat the atmosphere and staff at Key Lime Pie in the Highlands. The Steam Room is fantastic and the whole building feels like being in a very quiet and relaxing Swiss resort. It is a like a mini-vacation to go there for a few hours.

Any place but Spa Sydell. My office gave me a gift certificate to Spa Sydell valued over $200. I had surgery and and forgot the certificate. Upon finding the certificate, I called and asked how much time did I have to redeem the certificate. I was told that it was good anytime, but if prices had changed,I would have to pay the difference. Later when I decided to use the certificate I was told it had expired. The representative at the Duluth was very rude. I asked if I could just purchase some of their products with the certificate and was told no. I emailed the company and have never received a response.

I love Spa on Paces it has a great boutique feel and I love the fresh fruit after the massage. I prefer deep tissue massages, and Tamiko is one of the better therapists I have seen in the city. Definitely check them out!

Key Lime Pie Salon in Virginia Highlands is wonderful, the setting is peaceful and it feels like being transported to another city.

However, I have heard they treat their staff pretty bad so I’m reluctant to continue going.

I had a similar experience as Jay at Spa Sydell Gwinnett Place and have been highly disappointed at the service the few times I’ve been there. I’ve asked my husband to please, please not get me a g.c. from there again. Next time I’m trying Natural Body Spa in the Avenue Webb Gin.

Renew in Cobb is wonderful. Used to go to Key Lime & also heard they were horrible to their staff. Stopped going there. Spa Sydell is the worst spa I have been to. Spa on the Disney Cruise is the BEST I’ve been to!!

“SPA ON PACES” is Fabulous. The atmosphere is very cozy, laid-back, and relaxing. The 1/2 day package including lunch is to die for.

Natural Body (any location) blows multi-locations McSpa places like Sydell away. Sydell keeps their people on intensely strict sales commission quotas— you will be pushed, pushed, PUSHED into buying retail you don’t need, especially their signature line— total crap. The service providers are a dime a dozen— NB remembers me everytime, what my conditions are, and they take time with me to deliver top-notch services. NB never advertises (total word of mouth) and NEVER pushes product. My location is Sandy Springs. Keen the massage therapist is the BEST.
