Tainted Toys
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Mattel announced yet another toy recall of about 800,000 toys that includes some Barbie Accessory Sets and GeoTrax Engines tainted with lead paint from China.
The items were pulled from shelves at major stores such as Toy ‘R’ Us before stores opened today.
Will the recalls impact your holiday toy shopping? Where will you shop and what kinds of toys will you buy?

It’s low level terrorism. They’ve gotten into our pet food and poisoned it, they’ve gotten into our food, and poisoned it, now they are working on our kids, by putting lead paint on their toys and poisoning them.
Next they will be walking across the border with the mexicans and mass destruction will ensue.
Our government has its head in the sand, and absolutely refuses to deal with this, and one day it will be too late.
Unfortunately, we are just as naive as we were on September 10. Wake up people, they are here, they are coming in every day, and they are attacking us through our food and toys. It’s just matter of time before all women are wearing burkas. It’s closer than you think, but here we sit, waiting on our government to do something. When did we start working for the government? I thought the government was supposed to WORK for US?????
Fund the farmers and quit importing food from other countries……

Yes I’m scared. I’m just going to take the kids to Home Depot and get them all nail guns and powerdrills.

I wonder, what is happening to all of the recalled toys? Are they being recycled or is all of that plastic going into the landfill?

My 4 yr old is now telling me not to buy things made in China, because it is junk. I had to explain to her why those toys from the Dollar Tree keep breaking. Aside from all Chinese goods being inferior, I have to worry about food. No more shrimp from outside the USA. My husband works for a large cereal producer, and the product is purely American, because it costs less to produce here and USDA is a pain to deal with. (one saving grace) Atleast we can trust our cereal. However, most if not all toys are made in China. I do not know how to avoid Chinese products, and am willing to pay more and buy fewer toys. Gee it might help reduce the clutter. It seems that if an item is made in China, it is guaranteed to be either toxic or will break within a day. A lot of countries will not even accept items made in China. In Mexico it is classified as dumping and there is a high tariff.

Your government has utterly failed you.
We’re scum for letting our government become overrun with idiots, a***** and jingoists. We don’t deserver our freedom. We’re slowly but surely getting what we deserve. It’s only a matter of time now before the whole American way of life implodes on itself and we’re left as the most diseased and destitute country on the planet.

In the midst of our Wal Mart mentality we have gotten away from the Made in the USA brands, the way it use to be. I have never, and never will buy any cheap crap from a third world Communist country like China. You fools that bought that junk to save twenty cents, good for you, you got what you paid for and now you have to throw it away. We are allowing that country to take over the world, we have turned a blind eye to China, yep…to save twenty cents. That’s why I never go to Wal mart half of that crappy store is made in China. I’ll pay twenty cents and allow Americans to work.

Our disgusting, sniveling politicians are to blame for this; the lowest ranked Congress in history has sold us out. The good news, they’re old and dying…one kicked last night. They’re perverts having sex in bathroom stalls and making money while America goes to hell in a handbasket. Hopefull they’ll all die soon or be arrested for public bathroom sex and we can get a fresh crop.

Yes, it worries me. I’m one of those idiots who everyone is talking about who never worried about whether my kids toys were made in the USA, China or Jupiter. Mattel and Fisher Price were brands that I trusted to be of good quality. It’s getting to the point where I’m afraid for my son to play with anything in his toy box. While I don’t think that it is terrorism, I will start looking more closely at where items are manufactured. My Japanese car was probably made in Wisconsin or somewhere so I never know where anything comes from anymore.

I blame this all on unions. If the high cost of manufacturing due to unions had not driven these products offshore, then this would not be happening. I like good cheap stuff but it needs to have quality.

Can you guys tell me whose foods and products (again not weapons) are at the top position with high quality? I bet you don’t know either?
Who choosed our so-called leaders in USA?

I am not worried - I am disgusted by the corporate greed and total lack of protection for our most precious commodity - children. We do not have the option to decide that we do not want that cheap and poisonous garbage from China - there are no toy manufacturers left in our former great country. Are toys cheaper? No. Are CEOs paid multiple millions? Yes. Do they contribute large sums to campaings so that our representatives perpetuate this total disregard for safety? And, it is not only toys, it is our food as well. Most products contain at least some portion of ingredients imported from that 3rd world cesspool.
It is not the unions that did this. We do not WANT cheap China goods, but we no longer can make that choice. Lead is so dangerous that exposure permanently damages the developing brains of young children. That is why the Federal government requires lead testing at 12 months and 24 months, even sooner if a risk assessment indicates the need.
Mattel needs to provide lead testing on all children - now. People get busy, demand your representatives step up and protect our children.
