  • The staircase came out of a house in the south of France and has been placed into the space as the French restorers would do today in order to lengthen the staircase to fit the new space - exact replicas of the additional treads have been painstakingly carved and central vertical axis iron work turned. To ensure that the owner knows which parts of the staircase are the original, the additional steps are not stained so as to keep the old and the new separate.

We really wanted white counter tops-we used quartz for the countertops so that it has a clean look and stays clean. The quartz will not stain.

  • The poured concrete steps were an important design concept for the kitchen. They wanted to play with the angular lines to add to the modern feel of the kitchen. The space under the steps is used for storage and laundry.
