Health Tip: Is Your Cough Bronchitis?

(HealthDay News) -- Although initial symptoms of bronchitis may seem like a cold, they will continue to worsen until you see a doctor for treatment.

Here are some warning signs of bronchitis, courtesy of the U.S. National Library of Medicine:

  • Persistent cough that worsens at night; changes from dry to a productive, hacking cough; and lasts for about two weeks.
  • Difficulty breathing, wheezing noises while breathing, or a tightness in the chest.
  • A rattling sound in the chest.
  • Fever.
  • Sore throat or a tickle in the throat.
