Health Tip: Cerebral Palsy Hampers Muscle Control (HealthDay News) -- Cerebral palsy is a disorder affecting parts of the brain that control the muscles. Many people with CP have difficulty walking, running, speaking, or holding objects. Some people may also have CP-related seizures, the Nemours Foundation says. Physical, occupational and speech therapy can help people with the disease control balance, coordination and learn to train their muscles. Medications typically are prescribed to help control seizures.
