Treatment

The treatment is symptomatic and supportive. Colchicine can also help both during an attack and to prevent further attacks.

Prognosis

No medicine to completely cure the disorder is available.

Complications

  • Discomfort is the primary complication.
  • Narcotic addition can sometimes occur.
  • Gall bladder disease can also occur.
  • Amyloidosis happens more often in patients with FMF.
