Impotence and age
Age and impotence
Information Difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection
Question:
Do most men experience impotence with age?
Answer:
Age does not imply impotence. Sexual responses become slower and less intense with age, and it may take longer to achieve an erection than in youth. However, the erection may be maintained for a longer period than in younger men.
Impotence in the older adult is less likely to be a result of decreased testosterone (male sex hormone) but rather related to psychological factors, disease, chronic illness such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or medications.
