Information
Question:
Will taking vitamins help prevent colds?
Answer:
There is not conclusive evidence that taking vitamin C supplements will prevent colds. At least one study suggests that people taking vitamin C on a daily basis have milder cold symptoms than those who do not. However, experts are reluctant to recommend taking single-nutrient supplements. People with kidney disease should avoid vitamin C supplements. Most experts advise that you meet your daily vitamin and mineral requirements by eating a balanced diet.
