The second single from the Atlanta R&B group's sophomore CD, "The Truth," due in stores May 13.
> The director: Benny Boom, who has also worked with Atlanta acts Keyshia Cole ("Heaven Sent," "Love"), Akon ("Smack That") and Ciara ("Goodies").
> The site: Moraima Ivory's Grant Park home. And imagine her surprise when she opened the door and saw Boom. When she last saw one of the most high-profile names in the music business, they were both at Temple University, where she attended law school. "I didn't even know he's become this big-time video director," she concedes. "I don't usually let my daughters watch videos."
> The concept: "It's kind of hard these days to really showcase four people in a video," Boom says. "You almost forget that, you know, there aren't a lot of groups now. . . . So while we will have a lead singer, so to speak, we will make each of the girls' shots in the house special. And it will be done in black and white, which I think will add more power and depth and texture."
> The special guests: Parlae from Atlanta rap group Dem Franchize Boyz stopped by, as well as the new local act Blak Mega Boyz. FunkJazz Kafe founder Jason Orr was also there, along with musician-actor Bryce Wilson.
> The thing that probably won't make the video: The, ahem, tension between Cherish and the label and video execs. Cherish's father/manager, Charles King, decided to just walk away and let "the artists" handle it as "sometimes they don't need me to be dad," he said.
