Nunn: Georgia is in play for Obama

The Democratic National Convention has ended. As we look to the Nov. 4 election, it’s time to ponder a comment made earlier this week by Georgia Sen. Sam Nunn.

He said that the choice of Joe Biden as a vice presidential contender might help Barack Obama win working-class voters in Georgia. And that, he said, would be critical to winning the state.

I don’t see it happening.

What do you think?

Can Obama squeak out a win in Georgia?

How will he fare in Gwinnett?

Someone tell Blubbering Badie that Obama has pulled his media buys for Georgia. that means he doesn’t consider the state a possible win.

He’s right on one point, an Obama win in Georgia ain’t happening.

And Today’s Illegal Immigrant news:

*LAWRENCEVILLE - The case of murder victim Prisi Vasquez - a 2-year-old girl found dead in her parent’s former attic in June - is moving forward, though the chief suspects could be thousands of miles away. *

A grand jury handed down multiple counts against Vasquez’s parents this week related to the child’s February 2007 beating death. Federal authorities believe the couple are still hiding in Mexico, where police said they fled last year.

People need to listen to the actual words spoken by Obama and not the fact he delivers them well. He mentioned we had 57 states. Has something happened since the beginning of the year in history? Did we add Puerto Rico and Guam? That’s just 52. It’s not what he is saying but how he is saying things that trick a lot of people into thinking he would be an ideal presidential candidate. I’m also not particularly fond of McCain either because of his eternal war proposal. Personally I will vote for McCain who is the lesser of two evils and hopefully the congress will do their job and support the people instead of themselves.

I find it funny how two years ago, Democrats running for the senate and the house (including Obama) ran on the “change” platform. “If you don’t like how things are going, vote for us and we will ‘change’ it” The Democrats took the lead in the House and Senate two years ago and what has changed? Gas is higher, the housing market tanked and they have a 9% approval rating.

Oh my god, he said he visited 57 states? Ok, look. Do you really think a man running from president REALLY doesn’t know how many states there are? This is why Georgia lacks so bad in the intelligence scale compared to the rest of the county. Voting against someone for something as trivial as this, is no different than voting against someone based on the color of their skin. Let me explain the 57 thing, and try to understand it. Obama visited 47 continental states up to that point. He had 1 left to go. He accidentaly said 57. I’m guessing he was tired. Anyways, now that I got my stupid Georgian response out of the way for today,

Obama isn’t the right leader for this country right now. I find his drumming up support from the rest of the world a bit on the shady side. Now if we don’t elect him, the rest of the world hates us even more. I don’t find this very acceptable. I think Obama is too soft, especialy with what’s happening in the world right now.

McCain might be the polar opposite. A little to one-sided and rough. At least with McCain, we won’t look like a bunch of pansies. With Russia making it’s move, we need someone firm and not willing to back down.

I would vote for Condoleezza Rice in a heartbeat if she was running. That woman is one smart cookie and tough as nails. I’m hoping we see her run at some point in the future. That will kill 2 birds with one stone, a black woman president. So at least all the GA’s who like to vote based on naive ideas because they lack common sense can have a canditate as well.

Obama so far has yet to get any convention or VP naming bump. I think him taking GA would be a hugh long shot, I’m talking slim to no chance.

On the 57 states thing, please look it up and not just parrot what someone else told you. It was a slip, nothing more. GWB has made more than his fair share of them and I don’t think less of him for that.

Was it also a slip when Obama said 10000 people were killed in the Kansas tornado?

Was it also a slip when Obama stiffed the injured troops at Landstuhl?

Was it also a slip when he attended Rev. Writght’s chruch and listend to anti- american rhetoric for 20 years?

Is it also a slip that he is woefully unprepared for the Presidency of the Unitied States?

Does it make a difference that McCain just announced his selection of Sarah Palin (gov of Alaska) as his running mate?

I’m just stunned. I think overall this is good news for the Obama camp.

Illegal Immigrant News Update:

A kidnapping attempt at Collins Hill Park in Lawrenceville last week has one parent worried that the would-be abductor may try again.

Robert Davis, 32, of Lawrenceville, said his 10-year-old daughter was playing behind the batting cages around dusk Aug. 19 when a stranger grabbed her and tried to pull her toward the woods. The girl reportedly started screaming for her sister and her parents.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his mid-30s with “funky” medium-length dark hair and a tattoo on his right shoulder.

Doing the kidnapping Americans are too lazy to do.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT UPDATE:

The duluth police department’s officer Baker (a dumb black woman) claims that she and the police department will not do anything about the droves of illegal aliens standing at the shell station on 120 and buford highway. She claims the only person doing anything wrong was the man who called them to disperse the illegals, and threatened him. NICE WORK DULUTH PD! remove randall belcher immediately before we have another Jay Daley on our hands.

Obama will not win Georgia. He will likely not carry the South. His political strategy concedes to that event. Gwinnett will go to McCain. What is interesting: McCain has taken everyone by surprise and caught the Democrats off guard in choosing Sarah Palin.

For anyone who follows politics, they know where the numbers are and politics is a game of numbers. If you win the white woman vote, you’ve won the election.

Remember the code term “Soccer Moms”? Bill Clinton sure does.

Obama, whether by purpose or unwittingly made several serious political missteps that I doubt he will be able to overcome. Given those fatal blunders and the possibility Sarah Palin connects with a populist message that women are looking for it is very likely the Democrats will be very angry and disappointed come November.

The tea leaves say Cynthia Tucker is cranking-up the old computer at this very moment to churn-out another nasty diatribe assailing McCain for playing the race card.

Sorry, Ms. Tucker, McCain is only playing the cards that you Democrats have dealt to him.

Absolutely Obama can win in Georgia. The more people learn about McCain and his inconsistencies and flip-flops on every major issue and his inability to tell the factions in Iraq apart, the more they will be willing to support Obama-Biden, or just stay home.

The only way Obama takes GA is if enough of us Red State boys can’t hold our noses tight enough and pull the switch for Barr instead.

BTW, most of us think Sam Nunn is full of s** and pay no attention to him anyway. We remember the slogan “Sam Nunn wants your gun” after his ill-advised foray to the dark side.

I want to know how anyone is buying into what Obama stands for.

Socialized health care.

Doesn’t want English to be the official language and wants to give Social Security benefits to illegals.

Capital Gains Tax, Dividend Tax, Income Tax, Inheretance Tax…all raised if Obama gets his way.

Folks it takes help to misunderstand that.

Here is a question for you Cindy. A great deal is now being made over Gov. Shara Palin’s experience or a so-called lack thereof.

Which of the VP candidates now running for the White House would you as a woman, as a mother, want to answer the proverbial 3 a.m. phone call that would make the difference of war or peace or possibly the total destruction of humanity?

By LT5000

The President takes that phone call. Now which Presidential candidate would you rather have take that call?

That’s the real question here.

Michael,

I spent the last few minutes trying to determine exactly which angle I would use to address your question. Instead of going into great detail, at this time my biggest problem with Joe Biden is that if he is willing to partner up with Obama, that’s reason enough right there for me to say NO to Obama-Biden in 08.

I was in Baldwin County today when I first heard who McCain had chosen. It was actually kinda neat. At the precise moment, I was in the car with a total stranger who was giving me a ride to the courthouse. Her cellphone rang and the female on the other end asked had she just heard. She hadn’t and when she heard, she literally gasped, asked the caller to hold for a second and told us. It was by far the most remarkable thing I’ve experienced lately…but now keep in mind, I’m rather easy to entertain…y’all if you get a chance…visit Baldwin County. Those people know how to treat others. I’m sure it’s not every single person there, but each and every one that I interacted with today…hmmm…how do I best explain it…made me want to live there. The only exception being the judge…I reserve my decision on him for 45 days. :) Even the sheriff was a pleasure to socialize with.

Ok…back to the subject at hand.

Unfortunately, Obama will most likely not be able to secure the Georgia vote. I do believe however, he will become the next president of the US of America. With McCain selecting Gov. Palin as his running mate, and him being over 70 years of age, I for one would not want Gov. Palin running this country!! Are you serious?? I’m all for woman’s rights, but this is not Hillary Clinton. This woman is too too young and too too inexperienced to be the next President! Obama is absolutely the right choice. It’s just a shame that most of the people in Georgia still think its 1963 and as far as Gwinnett County, well LT can tell you that isn’t happening either. Sadly, most of them will be running trying to catch the white sheet sales. Right LT?h

I’m betting on something here Cindy, it relates to my earlier comment on the women voters in this country and them being the ones that actually determine if an election is won or lost. I’m also betting that every woman particularly would prefer to have a woman’s prospective on whether to go to war or not, especially when it is either their son or daughter that may have to fight that war and possibly die as a result.

Simply said, in that respect Gov. Shara Palin has more experience on national security and foreign affairs than any one of the men involved. None of them has experienced one day as a woman and a mother contemplating the decisions of war and peace.

I got an idea if women made the decisions on war and peace in this world there would likely be less war.

You betcha but I wanted your honest answer as a woman and mother, because that is the way women will vote in this election. They will vote as women and mothers and the most important issue to a woman and a mother will always be the security of her children and their well being.

Oh, did I mention that Gov. Palin made big oil pay a windfall profit royalty of $1,200 to every Alaskan in a likely addition to the $2,000 each resident of Alaska will receive this year?

Eat your heart out Nasty Nancy.

Ooooooooooo Barracuda!

She also told Ted Stevens and Washington D.C. no thanks to the earmark money that would have built the infamous “bridge to nowhere”.

She is a real reformer, a real (hard) working class mom.

Only one problem though, I hear she eats Moose Burgers!

Yikes!

Hey, Shara, save the Moose eat more dunkey burgers. As a Teddy Roosevelt progressive-populist reformer I have an affinity for the noble Moose.

There will be no bottom dollar if Obama has his way. Chad have you even studied up on Obama? How in the hell can you support what he promises? Do you not like your country? Your stuff? Your money? Do you seriously want to work just to hand your money over to the ones who hang in da screets all day or sit up in their trailer and wait on that monthy amount to show up on the ebt card? Do you seriously want our doctors to have to let you die because they’re paid by the government to not treat you? Seriously, do you really think the socialized medicine is not a pure racket that appeals to the lower class who has state paid medicaid already?

I seriously can’t figure out how you or anyone is buying into that crap. It’s like he’s got ya’ll hyptnotized or something or sending subliminal messages to people. Maybe he’s a siren like on the movie “Oh Brother Where Art Thou” and ya’ll simply are unaware you’re being tricked.

Michael, For some women, we make some of our decisions based on the security and well being of not only our children, but your children too.

Me personally… my kids, your kids, my aging parents, your aging parents, human life, freedom, energy, economy, environment, illegal immigrants, taxes, me personally…and so many other things. I know we (women) are nurturers and alot of decisions are driven by emotions…but never underestimate us. We’re tough and resilient. Heck we have to be or the kids would’ve eaten us alive a long time ago. :)

I think McCains VP choice was nothing short of brilliant. I also think that it shows his true character” That maverick thingy”. She is not an elitist or a rock star. She is us. She’s normal. Say what you want but most of the voters are ordinary folks. Not ignorant red staters or hyper intuitive “progressive” blue staters. They are ordinary folks who will never be asked what their opinion is.

They used to say that anyone could grow up to be President and deep down we all knew it was a damn lie. And as much as I like and respect Sen. Obama ( And I was seriously considering voting for him.)This changes everything.

Sen. Palin is an everyman/woman. Obviously she’s smart or she could not be a State Governor. She may not be the most experienced or practiced politician, but she identifies with the rest of us. And that is why we will elect her.

And yeah with a young family and a son serving in an Infantry unit, I want her heart beat away from the Presidency. She actually has something to loose that I can identify with.

Chad, move. When you grown up and earn your own money you will become a Republican also. There is nothing stopping you liberals from donating all of your money to losers, just do not donate mine. As far as Osama Obama, he scares the hell out of me, not because he’s half black, but because he is an idiot, socialist. Give me Herman Cain, Condi Rice, Alan Keyes, etc., etc, over this Obama idiot. Isn’t voting for someone BECAUSE they are a certain color kind of like racism?

I for one am not buying into Obama’s socialist agenda. His whole “we should all get along and help each other” speech reeks of “we should all benefit from the same labor that produces money no matter who actually did the laboring”. I guess he figures if the rich do not voluntarily help the poor enough, he will just take their money through taxes (for now, later it could be their property, or even the profits from their business) for the “sake of society”, i.e. socialism. I am all for everyone having health care, but I am not for taking from Peter to pay Paul. Everyone should have to pay something for it, not just the “rich”. Here’s an idea, how about instead of taxing the rich to pay for the middle classes’ health care, lower the middle classes taxes so they can afford to pay for their own,i.e. Now, everyone still makes and keeps their same amount of hard earned money AND everyone has health care. Oh, but then no one would vote for Obama if they have to pay for anything out of their own pockets instead of “making the rich pay for it”.
