Drive-in suits Peachtree City to a tee

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 07/02/2008

There are traditional drive-ins and then there is the Peachtree City idea of what a drive-in means ... which in this case requires a golf cart.

This summer's first Golf Cart Drive-in Movie will be held Saturday with a free screening of "Transformers" on a 20-foot screen in the parking lot of Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center, 2443 Ga. 54 West.

Blue Sky Studios
One of the movies featured during Peachtree City's Golf Cart Drive-in Movie will be 'Horton Hears a Who.'

For those who don't have a golf cart (many families in Peachtree City do because it's a planned community with 100 miles of golf cart paths), one can be rented from various local hotels, Bulldog Supply or Peachtree City Golf Cars Inc.

Show time begins 10 minutes after sunset (around

9:05 p.m.). Free popcorn will be provided, and concessions will be available.

Future films: Dr. Seuss' "Horton Hears a Who" on July 26, "The Spiderwick Chronicles" on Aug. 9, "Casablanca" on Aug. 16 and "A Night at the Museum" on Aug. 30.

While movies are free, donations will be accepted for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
