Decatur is doing a good imitation of Hollywood this month as the city hosts the filming of a new TV pilot and two horror movies - including one with the Oscar-nominated star of “Little Miss Sunshine.”

Musician Rob Zombie is directing one of the films, “Halloween 2,” in the city on Tuesday, St. Patrick’s Day. The movie, a remake of the original, features Malcolm McDowell and Scout Taylor, according to the city’s blog, The Decatur Minute.
Decatur also hosted the filming of another movie, “Zombieland,” billed as a comedic horror film, earlier this month. That movie features Abigail Breslin, the star of the film “Little Miss Sunshine,” and Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone.
“Zombieland” is scheduled for release in October of this year, just in time for Halloween.
The Old Courthouse on the Square in downtown Decatur also is the site for a new pilot show on ABC. Monday’s rain kept the production crew’s gear tented on the square, but shooting is expected to continue through the week.
The TV pilot, called the Untitled Daniel Cerone Project, is about a police detective’s use of his 11-year-old brother to solve crimes.
