Kids who go to real universities are conformist chumps. Kids rejected by universities are cool rebels: Their lack of ambition and screw-up habits are proud emblems of freewheeling individualism. That's the woolly message of "Accepted," a glib celebration of slackers and sloths, misfits and mooches, that flatters its target audience insecure 14-year-olds with the idea that underachieving has its own glamour and glory. A high school slacker whose college applications have all been rejected decides to create his own university. Much to his surprise, dozens of other college rejects show up for classes. Under the scornful eyes of the privileged students from the neighboring college, he and his friends forge ahead with maintaining a fake, but functioning, university.
