'Amityville Horror': Some boo-scares, but mostly ordinary

The new "The Amityville Horror" is a boo-scare spectacular. It's got more than enough instant ghoulific visions, more quick-moving shadows and more ear-splitting music swells than any decent scary movie needs. It's also got a ghost of a little girl with stringy dark hair who looks like she just climbed out of a well. Which is the point. There's nothing this "Amityville" won't beg, borrow, steal from or fabricate in trying to make your neck hairs sit up and shiver. Read the full review

A remake of the 1979 horror classic in which family is terrorized by demonic forces after moving into a home that was the site of a grisly mass murder.
