At least the clothes are fun. That's the best thing we can say about "Material Girls." Then again, with a title like that, they'd better be. This shrill comedy stars real-life sisters Hilary and Haylie Duff as heiresses Tanzie and Ava Marchetta, who take over the family's cosmetics empire after their father dies (a development that's played for weird, uncomfortable laughs). Paris and Nicky Hilton exhibit more character nuance. And they're vaguely more entertaining to watch. Read the full review
Heiresses to a multi-million dollar cosmetics company, Ava and Tanzie Marchetta approach life as one big party. But when a scandal involving one of their products emerges, the girls are left penniless, homeless, and seemingly helpless. They now must do some things they've never really considered: growing up, taking initiative and responsibility, and asking for help from others, rather than expecting it to fall into their laps.
