"There's grief here. And greed. But happiness, humor and hope as well."

Austin American-Statesman: 3 stars
"... a thoughtful portrait of boyhood graciously short on goopy sentimentality."

Dayton Daily News: B+

The Palm Beach Post: A
"...a sense of childlike wonder."
