Review: You've heard this story before: An ex-con
trying to go straight gets sucked back into one last crime. It's been
done three times already this year, in "Gone in 60 seconds,"
"Where the Money Is" and "Reindeer Games."
This time,
Christopher Walken plays a former safecracker and a lousy auto
mechanic who is forced into one last heist. It's familiar territory, but
first-time writer-director Myles Connell's pacing is so slow, it takes
forever to get there.
He gets the details right, though, in the
blue-collar Queens setting. And while the movie is boring at times,
Walken's performance never is. Donal Logue steals every scene
he's in as a bumbling would-be thief who's in on the crime.
