If nothing else, "Sherrybaby" confirms Maggie Gyllenhaal as arguably the most fearless, self-possessed actress of her age in Hollywood. Three years after entering prison for robbery as a 19-year-old heroin addict, Sherry Swanson begins her first day of freedom, clean and sober. A model prisoner who has undergone personal transformation, she immediately sets out to regain custody of her young daughter. But she quickly discovers that coming back to the world she left behind is far more difficult than she had planned.
