Before the year is out, the first wave of major studio films dealing with the events of Sept. 11, 2001, will be released. But it seems unlikely that any of them will be as bizarre, or as bizarrely compelling as Sorry, Haters, a slight independent feature about one woman's personal response to that fateful day. Phoebe works on a TV show about the hip-hop lifestyle, in which nouveau-riche entertainers show off their extravagant bling, then dismiss all criticism with the catchphrase, 'Sorry, haters!' She is disgusted by her job. An Arab cab driver picks up the troubled professional woman in New York, leading to unexpected consequences.
