'Underclassman': Sophomoric cop picture is a bust

Further proof of the demise of Miramax Films arrives with the woefully unoriginal, what-could-they-have-been-thinking, undercover cop picture, Underclassman, starring Nick Cannon (Drumline), who is hardly ready to carry a well-written movie and certainly not equipped to mask the inadequacies of this one. TO SUM UP
A baby-faced Los Angeles bicycle cop yearns to become a detective. He gets the chance to prove himself when he's sent undercover at an elite private high school, where he stumbles upon an international auto-theft ring — in between romancing a teacher and turning around the basketball team.
