Atmosphere: Intimacy is an understatement at this juke joint the size of a shotgun shack. After Kay Rowedder bought the place six years ago, it evolved into a snug living room vibe with old table lamps and mismatched furniture. Just inside the entrance there's a small triangular stage tucked in a corner with a shiny gold backdrop. There's not a bad view in the house for patrons, ranging from businessmen to blue-collar types. Patrons' ages are just as varied.

Honored alumni: Some of the best on the touring circuit, including Jimmy Thackery, Walter Trout, Chick Willis and former Muddy Waters guitarist Bob Margolin have plugged in. Atlanta-based Delta Moon and Theodis Ealey also pop up on the schedule.

Incoming class: The Wednesday night Open Blues Jam draws various local musicians. Former Atlanta resident Motor City Josh is scheduled to bring his high-energy show back to the club in March. Also, look for shows by guitar slingers Sean Costello, Eric Culberson and Liz Melendez.
