FOR THOSE WHO think Atlanta's nightlife is like a Southern New York, perhaps there's a cure for this disorder. Highfalutin' attitudes can keep New York's stuffy state of mind worlds apart from the ATL. Consider Shout, the latest from the owner of Twist, Peri Peri and Goldfish.
SCENE: Located in Colony Square, this loungy tapas/sushi bar is chicly decorated. Elegant, beaded curtains cascade from above, while red velvety banquettes outline several walls. Huge mosaic pillars, chandeliers and soft lights add a ritzy touch. The rooftop patio overlooking Peachtree and 14th streets has heaters, a cozy fireplace and open cabanas with TVs.

Shout has three sprawling areas: the main dining room and bar, a sushi bar and the upstairs dining/chill-out area that spills into that dreamy patio.
FOOD, FUN, FLIRT: For those not looking to dine, there's plenty of room to grab a martini or Long Island at one of the four bars and mingle or meet new friends. The restaurant's motto is "Food, Fun, Flirt," after all. Overall, Shout isn't trying to be original; social bugs will find it a familiar, if still trendy, scene. And the menu, with pizzas, tapas and seafood, is satisfying but won't win any "Iron Chef" battles.
NO 'TUDE: Smiles and friendly chatter abound. It's a well-mixed group of couples and singles in slacks, French cuffs, blue jean outfits, sexy skirts and move-something dresses having a good time. Highfalutin? Hardly.
HOURS: 11:30 a.m.-2:30 a.m. Mondays-Thursdays; 1 p.m.-2:30 a.m. Fridays-Sundays. Reservations accepted. $5 valet; Colony Square parking not validated.
