AMERICAN PIE HAS been a metro party destination for a couple of decades now, just outside the Perimeter on Roswell Road in the heart of Sandy Springs. It's like a beachside sports bar in a suburban setting, with palm trees adorned with Christmas lights, a dance floor and big-screen TVs. And while intown bars and clubs are busy on Fridays and Saturdays, there's a bigger party going on at American Pie on Sundays and weeknights than on weekends.
BEACH PARTY: It's not just the tropical plants and large wooden deck that give American Pie its Florida-beach-bar ambience. Those Hooters-style uniforms the bartenders and servers wear (revealing blue hot pants and midriff-exposing, tight white tanks) give American Pie a year-round Spring Break vibe. And the neon lights and jokester DJ spinning popular dance tunes inside add a bit of a strip club feel at times.
ALL-AMERICAN FUN: There's also live local music on the deck every Friday and Saturday night and trivia every Wednesday night. Mondays feature Texas Hold 'Em tournaments. The Pie's most popular night is Sunday (despite the $10 cover, the only night with a cover charge), probably due to its 4 a.m. closing and live music.
HAVE A SLICE: Pie is, of course, on the menu here (apple, Key lime and chocolate), but there's also bar munchies like Buffalo wings, chili cheese fries, burgers and sandwiches. On Tropical Thursdays, you can listen to live music on the deck while partaking in the fajita bar and crab boil. And Friday is Girls Night Out with $4 UV martinis, pool tournaments and live music.
HOURS: 11 a.m.-4 a.m. Mondays-Fridays; 11 a.m.-3 a.m. Saturdays; noon- 4 a.m. Sundays.
