THE OUTSKIRTS of Dunwoody may not seem like the most ideal late-night destination. But since it opened last October, Sean Patrick's has become a place for folks who like to have a drink or two while watching their favorite sport or playing pool, darts and foosball. And with cheap drinks, a menu that offers everything from pizza to steak, and live music on weekends, this Irish pub offers an entertaining alternative to driving downtown for fun.
ON THE MONEY: Lots of bars have dartboards and pool tables, but Sean Patrick's really takes this stuff seriously. The bar's six dart lanes attract players of all levels, including the Metro Atlanta Dart Association, every Wednesday. There are six pro-style pool tables that attract local and traveling leagues Monday and Tuesday nights. Poker tournaments take place each Wednesday and Saturday, which also feature foosball tournaments. And for serious players, the bar also has its own shop with pool and dart accessories.
SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE: Weekends at Sean Patrick's includes live music ranging from DJs to local bands. For those who like an audience after having a few drinks, try karaoke on Thursdays. Live rock bands such as Last and Sex Crime Superstars perform each Friday and Saturday night, followed by DJs spinning dance tracks. And on Sunday afternoons, the Wolfman spins hits from the '50s through the '80s. Sean Patrick's also offers free wireless Internet service and free pool with lunch.
HOT OFF THE GRILL: From traditional bar fare like chicken tenders, burgers and chicken quesadillas to entrees and pizzas (New York- and Chicago-style), Sean Patrick's has a lot of lunch and dinner options. Game munchies like Buffalo wings and chili cheese fries can be washed down with a pitcher of Pabst Blue Ribbon ($5.50), while vegetarians can opt for the grilled portobello sandwich. Entrees such as N.Y. Strip and fish 'n' chips are moderately priced, as are drinks like $6 Jager bombs.
HOURS: 11 a.m.-4 a.m. Mondays-Fridays; 11 a.m.-3 a.m. Saturdays; 12:30 p.m.-4 a.m. Sundays.
