The Crescent Room

Having recently undergone a change in management and a sonic overhaul, this cozy little Midtown spot has been home to many long running weekly events, although operations have scaled down recently. Dress code is fairly relaxed, but still enforced. The reconfiguration of the space has certainly helped to relieve congestion near the front of the club, and the $3 draft specials on certain nights are hard to beat.

THE PRICE: Usually $5-10, but there are discounts for e-mail list members who arrive early.

THE TUNES: How do you like your house music? Here, it's mainly deep and loungey. Resident DJ Caleb keeps the party going on regular nights; renowned guest DJs pop in every few weeks or so; locals like the SOCO Audio crew and J-Luv host monthly events.

THE SCENE: Small and intimate; the outside patio relieves some of the crowding during the summer. The Crescent Room is a destination spot for most, it really gets going around midnight. Its location across from eleven50 should indicate how nightmarish the parking could be. Go ahead and pay for parking somewhere; otherwise, you'll be circling Crescent Avenue all night in vain.
