Sanctuary

DANCERS TEAR UP THE FLOOR to the salsa tunes of artists like Marc Anthony and Celia Cruz at Sanctuary, billed as "Atlanta's only true Latin nightclub." Its pillared balcony houses a packed floor of salsa-dancing couples and hip-shakers. Nearby seating is available for those who need a breather in between twirls and dips. And partyers get that extra energy boost from the complimentary buffet available each night at 11:30. Newbies are more than welcome. In fact, first-time visitors are regularly pulled out onto the dance floor by regulars.

PRICE: $10 cover. The dress code is enforced at the door (jeans and T-shirts are a no-no). Business-casual is a safe bet. Drinks are average price.

TUNES: DJ Tito spins Latin dance music (salsa, cumbia, merengue, bachata) and a touch of house.

SCENE: Open Friday and Saturday nights. Free salsa lessons are given 9-10 p.m. on Fridays. It's also open 8-11 p.m. the first Sunday of every month for Tango Night.

• THE 411: 3209 Paces Ferry Place, Atlanta. 404-262-1377.
