Brew at the Zoo, Latin grooves, Memorial Day weekend

BREW AT THE ZOO

Party animal takes on a whole new meaning at Brew at the Zoo. SweetWater Brewing Co. hosts this beer-tasting event at Zoo Atlanta Memorial Day weekend. Admission gets guests 21 and older a tasting mug to sample SweetWater's concoctions, including Road Trip, its seasonal summer flavor. Three all-you-can drink beer stations will be available throughout the grounds. Seven music acts will perform, including Irish beer ditties from Danny Ray Cole.

LATIN GROOVES

Ten Pin Alley in Atlantic Station celebrates Memorial Day weekend Latin-style with Reunion. DJ Fernando F spins Latin and international dance favorites from the '70s-'90s. Guests abiding by the "retro cosmo" dress code will be drinking signature cocktails and dancing the salsa, merengue and more throughout the evening.

MEMORIAL WEEKEND BLUES

Singing the blues because you couldn't get to the beach Memorial Day weekend? Some folks in the same landlocked boat may be at the Rockin' Blues, Brew and Barbecue Fest at Park Tavern. The party begins at 2 p.m. with a set from Danny "Mudcat" Dudeck. Blues and soul diva Francine Reed and Java Monkey follow at 4 p.m. And local favorite Delta Moon headlines from 7 to 10 p.m. Barbecue and libations will be available for purchase.

SUNDOWN SESSIONS

The Globe in Midtown spins a variety of weekly specials throughout May. For instance, on Thursdays beginning at 7:30 p.m., soak up some jazz classics courtesy of the Jacob Deaton Trio while taking advantage of drink specials. After 5 p.m., Peroni draft beers are $3 per glass, and well brand mint juleps and martinis are $5 a pop.
